Rulebook
Setup:
Board Setup:
Place the Castle Board in the center of the table.
Position the castle pieces (Towers and Walls) in the designated areas on the board.
Place the Monster tokens outside the board as a draw pile.
Card Setup:
Shuffle the card deck and place it face down near the board.
Deal a starting hand of cards to each player, as specified in the rulebook.
Player Setup:
Each player selects a character (Archer, Knight, Swordsman) and places their token in front of them.
Place the resource tokens (Wood, Stone) within reach of all players.
Gameplay:
Turn Order:
Players take turns in a clockwise order. Each turn consists of several phases: Draw, Action, and End.
Turn Phases:
Draw Phase:
Draw a Monster card from the deck and place the corresponding monster tokens on the board.
Monsters are placed in the outer ring of the castle board and move inward each turn.
Action Phase:
Play Cards: Players can play cards from their hand to attack monsters, upgrade the castle, or gain special abilities.
Move Characters: Players can move their characters along the paths on the board to engage monsters or defend specific areas.
Attack Monsters: Use the dice and character abilities to attack monsters. The dice roll results determine the success of attacks.
Use Resources: Spend Wood and Stone tokens to build or repair castle defenses.
End Phase:
Resolve any effects of monsters that have reached the castle walls or towers.
Check if any castle pieces are destroyed and if the game conditions for defeat are met.
Monster Movement:
Each turn, monsters advance one space closer to the castle.
If a monster reaches the castle walls or towers, it deals damage, which players must repair using resources.
Winning and Losing:
Winning: The game is won if players successfully defend the castle from all waves of monsters and survive until the end of the game.
Losing: The game is lost if all the castle towers are destroyed or if certain defeat conditions are met (e.g., too many monsters reach the castle).
Special Rules:
Upgrades: Players can use Upgrade cards to enhance their characters' abilities or strengthen castle defenses.
Special Abilities: Each character has unique abilities that can be used during the Action Phase.
Tips for Success:
Coordinate Actions: Work together as a team to strategize and allocate resources effectively.
Prioritize Targets: Focus on high-priority monsters that pose the greatest threat to the castle.
Manage Resources: Use Wood and Stone wisely to build and repair defenses.
Castle Panic offers a fun and challenging experience for players of all ages.
