Objective:

The objective of the 2024 New Magnetic Chess Game Set is to checkmate your opponent's king, putting it in a position where it is threatened with capture and cannot escape.

Components:

• Magnetic chessboard with a sponge surface

• Magnetic stones as chess pieces (light and dark colors)

• String for securing the chessboard

• Rulebook (optional)
  

Setup:

1. Place the Board: Unroll or set up the magnetic chessboard on a flat surface.

2. Position the Pieces: Place the magnetic stones on the board in their starting positions. Each player should have one set of pieces (light or dark).
   

Gameplay:

1. Take Turns: Players take turns moving their pieces according to the rules of chess.

2. Moving Pieces: Each type of chess piece moves in a specific way:

   • Pawn: Moves forward one square, captures diagonally forward.

   • Rook: Moves any number of squares along a rank or file.

   • Knight: Moves in an L-shape pattern (two squares in one direction and one square perpendicular).

   • Bishop: Moves any number of squares diagonally.

   • Queen: Moves any number of squares along a rank, file, or diagonal.

   • King: Moves one square in any direction.

3. Capturing Pieces: When a piece moves to a square occupied by an opponent's piece, the opponent's piece is captured and removed from the board.

4. Check and Checkmate: If a player's king is threatened with capture, they are in check. If a player's king is in check and there is no legal move to remove it from check, it is checkmate, and the game is over.

5. Winning the Game: The player who checkmates their opponent's king wins the game.
   

Additional Rules:

• Castling: If neither the king nor the rook being used has moved yet, and there are no pieces between them, the player may move the king two squares toward the rook and then move the rook to the square next to the king.

• En Passant: If a pawn moves two squares forward from its starting position and lands beside an opponent's pawn, the opponent has the option to capture it "en passant" by moving their pawn diagonally to the square the first pawn skipped.

• Pawn Promotion: When a pawn reaches the opposite side of the board, it can be promoted to any other piece except a king.
