Official Kids Against Maturity Rules

Kids Against Maturity is a family-friendly card game designed to provide fun and laughter for kids and adults alike. The game is similar in style to Cards Against Humanity but tailored to be appropriate for children.

Objective

The objective is to create the funniest or most amusing answer combinations by pairing answer cards with question cards. The player with the most winning combinations at the end of the game is the winner.

Setup

Deal 10 white answer cards to each player. Place the remaining blue question cards and white answer cards in separate draw piles.

1. Players: The game is best played with 4 or more players.

2. Deal Cards:Shuffle the blue question cards and the white answer cards separately.

Gameplay

  1. Select a Question Master:

    • The player who most recently went to the bathroom starts as the Question Master (QM).

  2. Draw a Question Card:

    • The QM draws a blue question card from the top of the deck and reads it aloud to the group.

  3. Submit Answers:

    • Each player (except the QM) selects one white answer card from their hand that they think is the funniest or most appropriate response to the question.

    • Players pass their selected white answer cards face-down to the QM.

  4. Shuffle and Read Answers:

    • The QM shuffles the submitted answer cards and reads each one aloud, including the question for context.

    • For example, if the question card is "In the future, robots will do all our ___," the QM reads each submitted answer card in the blank space.

  5. Choose the Funniest Answer:

    • The QM selects the answer card they find the funniest or most amusing. The player who submitted the chosen answer card wins the round and receives the blue question card as a point.

  6. Rotate the Question Master:

    • The role of the QM rotates clockwise to the next player, and the next round begins.

  7. Draw New Answer Cards:

    • Each player draws a new white answer card from the deck to maintain a hand of 10 cards.

Winning the Game

  • The game continues until a predetermined number of rounds have been played, or until the draw piles are exhausted.

  • The player with the most blue question cards (points) at the end of the game is the winner.

Notes/Variations

  • The humor in Kids Against Maturity comes from the unexpected and often inappropriate combinations of questions and answers. Don't be afraid to be silly and let your inner child run wild (with a dash of adult humor).

  • Be mindful of your audience and adjust the game's intensity based on who's playing (avoid overly mature content if younger teens are involved).

  • Some versions might have additional rules or variations, so refer to the specific instructions included in your Kids Against Maturity game.

Kids Against Maturity is a delightful and engaging game that encourages creativity and humor. It's perfect for family game nights, parties, and gatherings where players of different ages can come together for a good laugh.
