Brain Freeze is a fun and fast-paced memory and deduction game where players race to identify their opponent's secret treat. Here's how to play:
Objective
The objective of Brain Freeze is to be the first player to correctly guess the opponent’s secret treat (a combination of a flavor and a location).
Components
Game board (featuring a grid of various treats)
Dry erase markers
Dry erase boards for each player (to record guesses and clues)
Clue tokens
Setup
Place the game board in the center of the table where all players can see it.
Each player receives a dry erase board and a marker.
Secretly, each player selects a flavor and a location on the game board to be their "secret treat" and marks it on their dry erase board.
Players should keep their secret treat hidden from their opponents.
Gameplay
Players take turns asking yes or no questions to try to deduce the opponent's secret treat.
On your turn, choose a row or column and ask if the secret treat is in that row or column.
Example: "Is your secret treat in row 3?"
The opponent must answer honestly with "yes" or "no."
Based on the answer, mark your dry erase board to keep track of the information you've gathered.
Use the clues to eliminate possibilities and narrow down the potential secret treats.
Players continue taking turns asking questions until one player is ready to make a guess.
Making a Guess
When you think you've deduced the opponent's secret treat, you can make a guess instead of asking a question on your turn.
State the flavor and location you believe is the opponent's secret treat.
Example: "Is your secret treat chocolate in column 2?"
If your guess is correct, you win the game!
If your guess is incorrect, the game continues, and you lose your turn.
Winning the Game
The first player to correctly guess their opponent’s secret treat wins the game.
Additional Rules
Clue Tokens: Some versions of the game include clue tokens that players can use to ask more specific questions or gain additional hints.
