Bugs in the Kitchen is a fast-paced, family board game where players try to trap a mechanical bug in a designated section of the board. Here’s a summary of the rules:
Objective:
To be the first player to trap the bug (a HEXBUG® Nano) in your section of the kitchen by strategically turning utensils.
Setup:
Game Board: Set up the board by placing the plastic utensils (forks, knives, and spoons) in the slots on the board. The utensils can rotate to create paths.
Bug: Place the HEXBUG® Nano in the center of the board.
Dice: The game includes a special die with utensil symbols (fork, knife, spoon) and a question mark (wild symbol).
Gameplay:
Starting the Game:
The youngest player starts the game by rolling the die.
The die shows which utensil the player can turn. If it lands on the question mark, the player can choose any utensil to turn.
Turn Sequence:
Players take turns rolling the die and turning one utensil (fork, knife, or spoon) to change the path of the bug.
The goal is to guide the bug towards your trap (corner) while avoiding the other players' traps.
HEXBUG® Movement:
The HEXBUG® Nano moves autonomously around the board. The position of the utensils determines its path.
Trapping the Bug:
The game continues until the bug enters one of the players' traps.
The player who successfully traps the bug in their section wins the round.
Winning:
Round Winner: The player who traps the bug in their section collects a token.
Game Winner: The first player to collect 5 tokens wins the game.
Tips for Playing:
Strategy: Anticipate the HEXBUG® Nano’s movement and adjust the utensils to direct it into your trap.
Observation: Keep an eye on other players' moves to block them and avoid losing the bug to their traps.
Remember: The game is designed for quick reflexes and strategic thinking. Enjoy the challenge and friendly competition!
