The Hasbro Pie Face Game comes in a few variations, but the core gameplay remains similar. Here's a breakdown of the rules for two common versions:

Pie Face Showdown

  • Number of Players: 2 players

  • Objective: Don't get "pie-faced"! Be the first player to activate the throwing arm and send the whipped cream (or sponge) towards your opponent.

Gameplay:

  1. Load the Arm:  Fill the throwing arm with whipped cream (not included) or use the included wet sponge.

  2. Chin Rest and Buttons:  Each player places their chin on a designated chin rest on the game unit. Players stand or sit at an equal distance from the pie thrower.

  3. Get Ready: On the count of 3, both players rapidly mash the button nearest to them. This activates the hand on the throwing arm.

  4. Suspense and Pie!:  As players mash the buttons, a spinning mechanism inside the game unit builds tension. Eventually, the hand on the throwing arm will smack down, propelling the whipped cream or sponge towards the loser's face.

  5. Winner: The player who avoids getting "pie-faced" wins the game.

Pie Face Game (Original Version)

  • Number of Players: 2 or more players

  • Objective: Earn points by successfully turning the handle without getting whipped cream (not included) in your face. The player with the most points at the end wins.

Gameplay:

  1. Prep the Game:  Place the whipped cream (not included) on the "hand" of the game unit.

  2. Spinner and Rotator:  The game includes a spinner with different point values. Players take turns spinning the arrow and following the instructions. The arrow might instruct you to rotate the rotator (a device with slots where your face goes) a certain number of times.

  3. Turning the Handle:  With your face positioned carefully in the slot on the rotator, turn the handle slowly.

  4. Pie Surprise!:  The throwing arm inside the unit can be triggered at any time, launching whipped cream towards your face if you're unlucky.

  5. Points and Winning:  If you avoid getting "pie-faced" during your turn, you earn points based on the spinner's value. The player with the most points at the end of the game wins.

Optional Chain Reaction Mode (Original Version):

This mode allows for more players by connecting multiple Pie Face games with a connector (sold separately). Players then take turns spinning and turning the handles across the connected games, creating a suspenseful chain reaction where anyone could get "pie-faced" next!

Additional Notes:

  • Adult assembly is required for both versions.

  • Remember to use only the provided sponge or whipped cream from home.

  • Be mindful of the choking hazard from small parts, especially for young children.

With these rules in mind, you're all set to enjoy a hilarious game of Pie Face with friends and family! Be prepared for laughter, screams, and maybe even a bit of whipped cream on the face!
