Official Sky Team Rules

The objective of Sky Team is to accumulate the most victory points by strategically managing routes, passengers, and resources to build the most successful airline.

Components

  • Game board depicting a map of airline routes

  • Player pawns or markers

  • Airline route cards

  • Passenger tokens

  • Resource tokens (money, fuel, maintenance)

  • Event cards

  • Dice

  • Rulebook

Setup

  1. Place Components: Set up the game board and place the player pawns or markers on the starting spaces.

  2. Distribute Resources: Each player receives an initial allocation of resources (money, fuel, maintenance tokens).

  3. Shuffle Decks: Shuffle the airline route cards and event cards and place them face down within easy reach of all players.

  4. Determine Starting Player: Decide who goes first by any agreed-upon method.

Gameplay

  1. Take Turns: Players take turns performing actions to manage their airline and compete for routes and passengers.

  2. Acquire Routes: Players can acquire airline route cards by spending resources and meeting certain conditions (e.g., having enough fuel, money, or meeting passenger demand).

  3. Manage Resources: Players must manage their resources carefully, balancing income from routes with expenses for fuel, maintenance, and other costs.

  4. Attract Passengers: Players can attract passengers to their airline by offering competitive fares, providing amenities, and meeting passenger preferences.

  5. Resolve Events: At the end of each turn or at specific intervals, draw event cards and resolve their effects. Events may affect routes, passengers, or introduce new challenges.

  6. Expand and Diversify: Players can expand their airline by acquiring new routes, opening new destinations, and diversifying their services to attract different types of passengers.

  7. Invest and Upgrade: Players can invest in upgrades for their airline, such as better planes, improved facilities, or marketing campaigns to increase passenger satisfaction and loyalty.

Winning the Game

The game ends after a set number of rounds or when a predetermined victory condition is met (e.g., reaching a certain number of victory points). The player with the most victory points at the end of the game is declared the winner.

Additional Rules

  • Player Interaction: Players may compete for routes, passengers, and resources, leading to strategic decisions and negotiation.

  • Strategy and Planning: Successful players will develop long-term strategies for route acquisition, resource management, and passenger satisfaction.

  • Random Events: Events cards introduce random elements and challenges, requiring players to adapt their strategies and tactics accordingly.
