University Games' Smart Ass Trivia: The Ultimate Who, What, Where Party Game. Here's how to play:
Components
Game Board
490 Question Cards (divided into four categories: Who, What, Where, and Hard Ass)
6 Playing Pieces
1 Category Die (showing Who, What, Where, and Hard Ass categories)
1 Movement Die
Instructions
Setup
Place the game board in the center of the table.
Each player selects a playing piece and places it on the start space.
Shuffle the question cards and place them in the respective category piles around the board.
Choose a reader to read the first question. The role of reader rotates clockwise each turn.
Game Play
Roll the Category Die: The reader rolls the category die to determine which type of question will be read (Who, What, Where, or Hard Ass).
Ask a Question:
The reader picks a question card from the top of the corresponding pile and reads the clues aloud, one by one, in order.
Players can shout out the answer as soon as they think they know it. There is no need to wait for the reader to finish the question.
Answering:
The first player to shout out the correct answer wins the round.
If a player shouts an incorrect answer, they are temporarily out of that round and cannot guess again until the next question.
Moving Forward:
The player who answered correctly rolls the movement die and moves their playing piece forward the number of spaces indicated.
If no one answers correctly, the same reader continues with a new question of the same category.
Next Reader:
After a question is answered (correctly or not), the role of the reader moves to the next player in clockwise order.
Special Spaces:
Some spaces on the board have special instructions:
Dumb Ass: Lose your next turn.
Kick Ass: Move ahead to the next Kick Ass space.
Go to the Start: Move your piece back to the start space.
Winning the Game
The first player to reach the finish space wins the game.
Players must roll the exact number needed to land on the finish space. If they roll a higher number, they must move their piece forward to the finish space and then back the remaining number of spaces.
Additional Rules
Tie-Breakers: In the event of a tie where multiple players shout the correct answer at the same time, the reader decides who answered first.
Player Conduct: Players must refrain from shouting multiple answers in quick succession to ensure fair play.
I hope this breakdown helps you understand the core gameplay of University Games' Smart Ass Trivia!
