1. Players: The game is designed for 2 players.
2. Distribute Materials:Each player gets 16 letter tiles.
3. Create Secret Words:Each player uses their letter tiles to create a secret word and writes it down behind their privacy shield. Mix up the remaining letter tiles to create a shared pool of unused letters.
Gameplay
Turn Sequence:
Players take turns using the clue cards to guess their opponent's secret word.
On your turn, choose a clue card and follow the instructions on it. Each clue card costs a certain number of berry tokens.
Pay the berry tokens to the bank and use the clue card to get information about your opponent's word.
Using Clue Cards:
Clue cards have different types of clues such as “How many vowels are in your word?”, “Is your word longer than 5 letters?”, “What’s the first letter of your word?” etc.
Each clue card has a berry token cost which you must pay to use that clue.
Guessing the Word:
At any point during your turn, instead of using a clue card, you can attempt to guess your opponent's secret word.
If you guess correctly, you gain berry tokens. If you guess incorrectly, you lose berry tokens.
4. Scoring:
Earning Tokens: Correctly guessing your opponent's word earns you berry tokens based on the number of letters in the word.
Spending Tokens: Using clue cards costs berry tokens, which are spent to the bank.
Winning the Game
The game continues until both players have correctly guessed each other’s secret words or decided to stop the game.
The player with the most berry tokens at the end of the game is the winner.
Notes/Strategy
Efficient Clue Usage: Use your berry tokens wisely. Opt for clues that give the most information for the least cost.
Bluff and Misdirect: When possible, choose letter tiles that can create multiple potential words to make it harder for your opponent to guess your secret word.
Keep Track: Use your notepad to keep track of the clues you’ve received and the letters that have been revealed to deduce the opponent's word logically.
"A Little Wordy" is a fun and engaging game that challenges players to think strategically and use their vocabulary skills. It’s perfect for a quick game session and provides a good mix of competition and mental challenge.
