Official It's in The Bag! Jr. Rules
It's in The Bag! Jr. is a fun and fast-paced charades game designed specifically for kids. Here's how to play:
Objective
Work together as a team to guess the most picture cards within a time limit and collect the most points!
Setup
1. Shuffle the Cards: Shuffle the deck of picture cards well and place it face down in the center of the playing area.
2. Form Teams: If playing with more than 4 players, divide into teams with roughly the same number of players per team.
Gameplay
The game is played in rounds. Here's how a round goes:
Choose the Describer: Each team chooses one player to be the "describer" for that round. The describer cannot see the picture card and will be giving clues to their teammates.
Draw a Card: The remaining players on the team (the guessers) close their eyes or turn away so they can't see the picture card. The describer on the chosen team draws one card from the deck and looks at the picture without showing it to their teammates.
Describe! Start the timer! The describer has a limited time (usually 30 seconds as measured by the sand timer) to describe the picture on the card to their teammates without saying any words on the card itself. They can use actions, sounds, synonyms, or silly voices to help their teammates guess.
Guessing: The guessers can shout out answers as many times as they like within the time limit.
Correct Guess! If a teammate guesses the picture correctly before the timer runs out, that team scores a point! Discard the guessed card face down into a discard pile (optional).
Next Round: A new round begins. The next team chooses their describer, draws a new card, and the guessing fun continues!
Winning the Game
Play for a predetermined number of rounds (e.g., 5 rounds).
After all the rounds are played, the team with the most points wins the game!
Notes/Variations
Optional Point-Keeping:
If you'd like to keep score, have a designated scorekeeper track points for each team using a pen and paper. Simply mark a point for the team whenever they guess a card correctly within the time limit.
Additional Notes:
Cooperative Play: It's in The Bag! Jr. encourages teamwork and communication as players work together to describe and guess the pictures.
No Reading Required: The picture cards and gameplay don't require reading skills, making it perfect for younger children who are still learning.
Fast-Paced and Fun: The time limit and charades aspect add excitement and laughter to the game.
