Official Penguin Panic Rules
Penguin Panic is a fast-paced and hilarious card game that tests your vocabulary and reaction time. Get ready to blurt out words and have some laughs with friends and family!
Objective
Be the player with the most points at the end of the game by successfully calling out words that fit the criteria revealed by the cards.
Setup
Shuffle the Penguin Panic deck and place it face down in the center of the table. You can choose to include the Icebreaker deck as well, shuffling it separately. If using the Icebreaker deck, reveal the top card and place it face up next to the Penguin Panic deck.
Gameplay
Start the Show: Flip over the top card from the Penguin Panic deck. This card will display two letters, one in red and one in blue.
Race to Say a Word: Everyone plays simultaneously! Be the first player to shout out a word that starts with a letter matching the color displayed on the Penguin Panic card.
Using the Icebreaker (Optional): If using the Icebreaker deck, the word you shout out must also fit the category displayed on the top card of that deck (e.g., Icebreaker category: "Food," Penguin Panic color: "Red," you could shout "Radish").
Winning the Round: If your word is valid (starts with the correct letter color and fits the category if using the Icebreaker), you win the round! Take the Penguin Panic card and keep it face up in front of you as a point.
Discard and Repeat: Discard the revealed Penguin Panic card (and the Icebreaker card if used) to a discard pile. Flip over a new card from the Penguin Panic deck (and a new Icebreaker card if used) to begin the next round.
Winning the Game
The game continues until the Penguin Panic deck is depleted (or until a predetermined number of rounds is played). The player with the most collected Penguin Panic cards (points) wins the game and is crowned the Penguin Panic champion!
Notes/Variations
The game encourages quick thinking and may lead to some silly or nonsensical answers – that's all part of the fun!
If multiple players shout out a valid word simultaneously, a tie-breaker can be determined by having them race to say another word that fits the criteria.
Some variations might allow players to challenge a shouted word if they believe it doesn't fit the criteria. Agree on such rules before starting the game.
Penguin Panic causes wildly unthinking behavior we are not responsible for any words you yell in front of family or friends. Not intended for people who do not like fun, laughing, amazing card games or Penguins.
