Official UNO Flip Rules

UNO Flip is a variation of the classic UNO game that introduces a double-sided deck with unique rules. Here’s how to play:

Objective

To be the first player to get rid of all your cards.

Setup

  • Each player is dealt seven cards. The remaining cards form a draw pile.

  • Light Side: The game starts on the "Light Side" of the cards. Players match cards by number, color, or symbol.

Gameplay

  1. Play: On your turn, you must match a card from your hand with the top card of the discard pile by color or number. If you cannot match, draw a card from the draw pile. If the drawn card can be played, you may do so; otherwise, your turn ends.

  2. UNO Flip Card: When you play the special UNO Flip card, flip the entire deck over to switch from the Light Side to the Dark Side or vice versa. This includes flipping the discard pile and drawing pile.

  3. Action Cards:

    • Draw One (Light Side): The next player draws 1 card and loses their turn.

    • Skip (Light Side): The next player is skipped.

    • Reverse (Light Side): Reverses the direction of play.

    • Draw Five (Dark Side): The next player draws 5 cards and loses their turn.

    • Skip Everyone (Dark Side): All other players lose their turn.

    • Reverse (Dark Side): Reverses the direction of play.

    • Wild (Both Sides): Allows the player to choose the next color of play.

Winning a Round

  • The round ends when a player has played all their cards.

  • The remaining cards in the opponents' hands are tallied, and their point values are added to the winning player’s score.

    • Number cards are worth their face value.

    • Draw cards are worth 20 points.

    • Wild cards are worth 20 points.

Winning the Game

  • The game continues until a player reaches 500 points. The player with the highest score at that point wins.

Notes/Variations

  • UNO Call: When you have one card left, you must shout "UNO!" If another player catches you not calling UNO, you must draw 2 cards.

  • Special Rules for Dark Side: The Dark Side cards have different effects and may change the dynamics of play.

UNO Flip adds a twist to the traditional UNO game with the flipping mechanism and the special cards. Enjoy your game!
