Basketball is a team sport involving two teams of five players each who try to score points by shooting a ball through a hoop. Here are the basic rules!

Basic Rules:

  • Objective: Score more points than the opposing team by shooting the ball through the hoop.

  • Gameplay: Teams alternate possessions, attempting to advance the ball up the court and score.

  • Scoring: A field goal is worth two points, while a shot made from beyond the three-point line is worth three points.

  • Fouls: Players are allowed a certain number of fouls before being disqualified. Free throws are awarded for fouls committed against a player in the act of shooting.

  • Time: Games are divided into quarters with short breaks between them.
