Players:

  • You can play with at least two people, but the more the merrier!

What you'll need:

  • An area to play in, like a house, park, or backyard. Make sure it's safe and there are plenty of hiding spots.

Gameplay:

  1. Choose a Seeker:  Someone volunteers to be the "seeker" who will try to find everyone else hiding. You can decide who's it by playing a quick game of rock, paper, scissors, or taking turns.

  2. Seeker Closes Eyes and Counts: The seeker finds a spot to stand, closes their eyes, and counts aloud to an agreed-upon number (usually between 20 and 100). This gives the hiders enough time to find a good hiding spot. You can add "Ready or not, here I come!" at the end of the counting.

  3. Hiders Find a Spot: While the seeker is counting, everyone else scatters and hides! Try to find a spot that's challenging for the seeker to find, but also safe and comfortable for you to wait in.

  4. Seeking Begins: Once the seeker finishes counting, they open their eyes and start searching for the hidden players. The seeker can look anywhere they think someone might be hiding, behind furniture, under blankets, in closets, etc.

  5. Getting Found: If the seeker spots a hider, they yell out "I found [hider's name]!" That hider is then "out" and can no longer play in that round.

  6. Seeker Wins or Continues:

    • The seeker wins the round if they find all the hiders! In the next round, a new seeker is chosen (usually the first person found).

    • If there's still time left and some hiders haven't been found, the seeker can keep searching until they get tired or everyone agrees to end the round.

Variations:

  • Home Base: You can designate a "home base" spot where hiders can run back to if they see the seeker coming close. If they reach home base and touch it before the seeker tags them, they're safe!

  • Hiders Seek Revenge (Optional): In some variations, once a hider is found, they can join the seeker in searching for the remaining hiders. This can make the game more exciting and chaotic!

Tips:

  • For Seekers: Be sneaky and listen carefully for any sounds that might give away the hiders' location.

  • For Hiders: Try to be creative with your hiding spots! Don't just hide in the same place every time. Stay quiet and still so the seeker doesn't hear you.

Most importantly, have fun hiding and seeking!
