Red Rover is a classic outdoor game that pits two teams against each other in a test of strength and agility. Here's how to play:
How to Play:
Form Teams: Divide players into two equal teams.
Line Up: Each team forms a line, facing the opposing team, holding hands.
Calling a Player: One team chooses a player from the opposing team and calls out, "Red Rover, Red Rover, send [player's name] on over!"
The Break-In: The chosen player runs towards the opposing team and attempts to break through their linked hands.
Outcome:
If the player successfully breaks through, they choose one player from the opposing team to join their side.
If the player fails to break through, they join the opposing team.
Continue Playing: The game continues with the teams alternating turns until one team has only one player remaining.
Additional Notes:
The teams should stand about 20-30 feet apart.
Safety is important. Players should be careful not to hurt each other during the break-in attempt.
Variations of the game may exist, such as different ways of scoring or additional rules.
Red Rover is a great game for building teamwork and physical activity.
