Lacrosse is a dynamic team sport that combines elements of hockey, basketball, and soccer. The objective is to score goals by shooting a rubber ball into the opponent's net using a lacrosse stick.
Basic Rules:
Teams: Each team consists of ten players: one goalie, three defenders, three midfielders, and three attackers.
Playing Field: The field is divided into offensive and defensive zones.
The Ball: Players use the head of their lacrosse stick to carry, pass, and shoot the ball.
Scoring: A goal is scored when the ball crosses the opponent's goal line.
Face-off: The game starts with a face-off between two opposing midfielders to gain possession of the ball.
Fouls: Players can commit penalties, such as holding, tripping, or illegal body contact.
Time: Games are divided into quarters.
Key Positions:
Goalie: Protects the net with a larger stick designed for blocking shots.
Defender: Primarily responsible for defending the team's goal.
Midfielder: Can play both offense and defense, contributing to ball movement and scoring opportunities.
Attacker: Focused on scoring goals by shooting and passing the ball.
