42 Dragonwood cards (creatures, enhancements, events)
6 custom dice
Rulebook
Setup:
Shuffle the Dragonwood deck and place it face down to form the draw pile.
Deal five Dragonwood cards face up in a row to create the landscape.
Shuffle the Adventure deck and deal five cards to each player. Place the rest face down to form the draw pile.
Place the six dice within reach of all players.
Gameplay:
Player Turns:
On your turn, you can either Reload or Capture.
Reload: Draw one Adventure card from the draw pile and add it to your hand.
Capture: Attempt to capture a Dragonwood card by playing a set of Adventure cards from your hand.
Capturing Cards:
You can capture a card in one of three ways:
Strike: Play cards of the same number (e.g., three 4s).
Stomp: Play cards of the same color in numerical order (e.g., 2, 3, 4 in blue).
Scream: Play cards in numerical order regardless of color (e.g., 1, 2, 3).
After playing the set, roll the number of dice equal to the number of cards you played.
Compare the total of your dice roll to the capture value on the Dragonwood card. If your total meets or exceeds the capture value, you capture the card and place it in front of you. If not, discard one Adventure card from your hand and end your turn.
Event Cards:
Some Dragonwood cards are Event cards with special instructions. Follow the instructions immediately when the Event card is revealed in the landscape.
Enhancement Cards:
Enhancement cards provide bonuses and abilities. Once captured, place them in front of you and use them according to their instructions.
Refilling the Landscape:
Always keep five Dragonwood cards in the landscape. After a card is captured or an Event is resolved, draw a new Dragonwood card to replace it.
End of Game:
The game ends when both dragons are captured or the Dragonwood deck runs out.
Players count the points on their captured Dragonwood cards.
The player with the most points wins.
Additional Rules:
Adventure Deck Reshuffle: If the Adventure deck runs out, reshuffle the discard pile to form a new draw pile.
Ties: In case of a tie, the player with the most captured creatures wins. If still tied, the player with the most Adventure cards in hand wins.
Dragonwood offers a fun and engaging experience for players of all ages!
