Wildcraft! is a cooperative board game that blends education with fun. It's designed to teach players about herbs and their medicinal properties while enjoying a collaborative gaming experience.

Objective: The goal is to journey up the mountain to collect huckleberries and return home safely before nightfall, learning about edible and medicinal plants along the way.

Setup:

  1. Lay out the game board.

  2. Place the Cooperative Cards, Plant Cards, and Trouble Cards in their respective draw piles.

  3. Each player chooses a character pawn and places it on the start space.

  4. Distribute 4 Plant Cards to each player.

  5. Shuffle the remaining Plant Cards and place them face down on the board.

  6. The youngest player goes first, and play proceeds clockwise.

Game Play:

  1. Movement:

    • On your turn, roll the die and move your pawn the number of spaces rolled.

    • Follow the instructions on the space you land on.

  2. Spaces:

    • Plant Spaces: Draw a Plant Card.

    • Cooperative Spaces: Draw a Cooperative Card and follow its instructions.

    • Trouble Spaces: Draw a Trouble Card. Troubles can be resolved by having the correct Plant Card or by receiving help from another player.

    • Huckleberry Spaces: Collect huckleberries.

  3. Helping Each Other:

    • Players can share Plant Cards to help resolve troubles.

    • Players can also choose to move back to help another player who is stuck.

  4. Returning Home:

    • Once you have collected the huckleberries, return to the start space.

Winning the Game:

  • The game is won when all players return to the start space with their huckleberries before nightfall (before the Cooperative Card deck runs out).

Special Rules:

  1. Double Dice: If a player rolls a 6, they may roll again.

  2. Trouble Cards: If a player cannot resolve a Trouble Card, they miss their next turn.

  3. Trading Cards: Players can trade Plant Cards only when both players agree.

  4. End of Game: The game ends when all players have returned home or the Cooperative Card deck is depleted. If not all players have returned, the game is lost.

Educational Aspect:

  • Each Plant Card includes information about the plant's uses, making the game both fun and educational.

Cooperation is Key:

  • Remember, Wildcraft! is a cooperative game. Helping each other ensures everyone wins.

Wildcraft! is a great game for families and educational settings, combining entertainment with learning.
