How to Play No Cap!

Overview

Ages: 7+
Players: 4–10 (even number of players recommended)

Contents

  • 65 Number Cards:
    • 13 Blue cards (numbered 0–12)
    • 13 Orange cards (0–12)
    • 13 Red cards (0–12)
    • 13 Yellow cards (0–12)
    • 13 Green cards (0–12)

Objective

Your team’s goal is to collect all five cards of the same number, one in each color.
Once a team member has all five, they must secretly signal their teammates. If a teammate spots the signal, they shout “No Cap!” to win the round and earn 1 point.

Think the other team has a full set but hasn’t claimed it yet? Shout “Cap!”

  • If you’re right, your team earns 2 points.
  • If you’re wrong, the other team gets 1 point.

Setup

  1. Form Two Teams. Divide players evenly if possible.
  2. Create a Secret Signal. Each team privately agrees on a signal (a gesture, movement, or word).
  3. Alternate Seating. Players should sit so no teammates are next to each other.
  4. Deal Cards. Shuffle the full deck and deal 5 cards to each player.
  5. Prepare the Deck. Place the remaining cards face down in the center to form the draw pile.

How to Play

  • Create the Community Pile. Flip over 5 cards face-up from the draw pile into the center. This is the community pile.
  • Swap Freely. At any time (no turns), players can take one card from the community pile and replace it with a card from their hand.
    • You must always have exactly 5 cards.
  • Refresh the Community. If no one wants the current community cards, discard them and reveal 5 new cards.
    • If the deck runs out, reshuffle the discard pile to replenish the draw pile.

Game Modes

  • Easy Mode: Teams can use verbal or non-verbal signals.
  • Hard Mode: Signals must be non-verbal only (gestures, facial expressions, etc.).

Ending a Round

A round ends immediately when either:

  • A teammate correctly yells “No Cap!”, and the team shows they have all five cards of the same number (one of each color).
  • An opposing player calls “Cap!”, correctly guessing the other team has a full set.

Wrong calls result in a 1-point reward for the other team.

Winning the Game

Decide on a target score before playing—first team to reach 3, 5, or 7 points wins the game!

No Cap! blends strategy, deception, and teamwork in a race to read your friends and outplay the other team. Whether you’re signaling slyly or calling out a bluff, every round is full of surprises. Keep your moves sharp and your eyes sharper—first team to the point goal wins!
