Game Overview

The game takes place over three rounds. In each round, players are dealt a hand of cards, choose one to play, then pass the rest. Players build sets of sushi in front of them to score points, depending on the cards collected. After three rounds, the player with the highest total score wins.

Starting a Round

  1. Add dessert cards into the main deck based on the round and player count.
  2. Shuffle the deck and deal hands as follows:
    • 2–3 Players: 10 cards each
    • 4–5 Players: 9 cards each
    • 6–8 Players: 8 cards each
  3. Players take their hands secretly and begin play.

Taking Turns

Each turn is simultaneous:

  1. Choose one card to play and place it face-down.
  2. When everyone is ready, reveal all cards.
  3. Pass your remaining hand to the left.
  4. Pick up the new hand and repeat.

Cards you play remain face-up in front of you for the round. Group same-color cards together for easier scoring.

Special Card Timing

Some cards (like Chopsticks, Spoon, Menu, Takeout Box) allow bonus actions. When played:

  • Call out the card name when all players reveal.
  • Resolve bonus actions before picking up new hands.
  • If multiple bonus cards are used, resolve them in order by the number in the lower-right corner (lowest goes first).

Ending a Round

  1. Move any dessert cards to a separate pile; they are scored at the end of the game.
  2. Score all other played cards using their respective rules.
  3. Move your pawn forward on the score track.
  4. Discard all non-dessert cards (including played and unplayed cards).
  5. Shuffle in new dessert cards for the next round.

Winning Sushi Go! Party

After three rounds:

  1. Score all dessert cards.
  2. The player with the highest total score wins.
  3. In case of a tie, the player with the most dessert cards wins.
