Tell Me Without Telling Me is a fun and engaging party game where players try to communicate a word or phrase without directly saying it. Each player takes turns drawing a card with a word or phrase written on it. The player then has a limited time to describe the word or phrase using only non-verbal clues, such as acting it out, miming, or giving hints without using the exact word. The other players must guess what the word or phrase is based on the clues. The player who guesses correctly earns points, and the game continues until all cards have been used or a player reaches a set score. It’s a great way to test creativity, communication skills, and teamwork.

How to Play Tell Me Without Telling Me
Objective
The goal of Tell Me Without Telling Me is to get your teammates to guess as many cards as possible by giving clues that follow the restrictions of your die roll.
Components
- 400 subject cards drawn from People, Places, Traits, Things, and Movies & TV
- 1 Die
- 1 Sand Timer (about one minute)
- Instructions

Setup
- Shuffle all the cards into a single draw pile.
- Divide players into two teams.
- Choose which team goes first.
Gameplay
Taking Turns
- Teams take turns playing rounds.
- On your team’s turn, select one player as the clue giver. Clue givers rotate each round.
- The clue giver rolls the die to determine how they must give clues this round.
Giving Clues
- Flip the timer to start your turn.
- Draw the top card from the pile.
- Give clues to your teammates using the rules from your die roll.
- If your teammates guess correctly, keep the card in your team’s score pile and draw another card.
- If you break the rules of your die roll, discard the card and draw a new one.

End of Turn
- A turn ends when the timer runs out.
- If the clue giver was still working on a card, the opposing team gets one chance to guess it. If correct, they steal the card for their score pile. If not, the card is discarded.
- Play passes to the other team.
Die Rules
The die has three possible outcomes (each appearing twice):
- Show Don’t Tell – No words or sounds allowed. Act out the card. Props are allowed.
- One Syllable – You may only use one-syllable words (not the card’s actual words). If you say a longer word, discard the card immediately.
- Freestyle – Say anything you like, except the words on the card. No gestures allowed.
- Optional Variant: Turn Freestyle into freestyle rapping for extra challenge.
Winning the Game
- Teams continue playing until each has completed seven rounds.
- Every correctly guessed card is worth one point.
- The team with the highest score wins.
Tiebreaker: If tied, each team selects one clue giver. Draw one card, roll the die, and both clue givers play at the same time. The first team to guess correctly wins.

FAQ
