How to Play Wild Guess!

Objective

Be the first player to get rid of all your GUESS cards by correctly identifying the color or suit of the top card in your pile each turn. If you run out of GUESS cards, you win!

Game Setup

  1. Deal the Cards
    • Give each player 15 GUESS cards and 1 BLOCK card.
    • Return any unused cards to the box.
  2. Set Up Your Piles
    • Players place their GUESS cards face-down in a single pile on the table, just behind their BLOCK card.
    • The BLOCK card should be face-up in front of each player.
  3. Memorize the Bottom Card
    • Each player secretly looks at the bottom card of their GUESS pile and memorizes only the suit (Diamonds, Hearts, Clubs, or Spades).
  4. Determine the First Player
    • In a 2-player game, the non-dealer goes first.
    • In games with 3 or more players, the player to the dealer’s left starts.
    • Play continues clockwise.

Gameplay Overview

Each round consists of guessing, flipping, and possibly passing or discarding cards. The goal is to empty your GUESS pile by making correct guesses.

Taking a Turn

  1. Make Your Guess
    • Guess either the color (red/black) or suit of the top card in your GUESS pile.
    • Whether you guess color or suit depends on the state of your PASS pile:
      • If your PASS pile is empty, guess the color.
      • If your PASS pile is not empty, look at the top card of your PASS pile. It will tell you whether to guess color or suit.
  2. Flip and Check
    • Flip the top card of your GUESS pile face-up onto your PASS pile.
    • You have 2 seconds to guess — be quick!
  3. Check the Result
    • If you guessed incorrectly, your turn ends.
    • If you guessed correctly, take the following steps:

If You Guessed Correctly: Pass or Discard

  1. Pick Up Cards to Pass
    • The number on the card you just flipped indicates how many cards you can pass.
    • Pick up that many cards from your PASS pile (including the correctly guessed card on top).
    • If you don’t have enough cards, just take all that you have.
  2. Decide Where the Cards Go
    • If your guessed card is a WILD card:
      • You can pass the picked-up cards to any player, ignoring BLOCK cards.
    • If it’s a NORMAL card:
      • You can only pass to the next player in turn order.
      • If the suit of your guessed card matches either suit on that player’s BLOCK card, you must discard the stack instead.
  3. Discarding
    • Discarded cards go face-down in the center of the table and are out of play.
  4. Winning the Game
    • If your GUESS pile is empty at the end of your turn, you win!

Game Tips

  • Always memorize your bottom card’s suit at the start.
  • Try to remember suit and color patterns in your pile, as the order never changes — even when flipping your PASS pile back into your GUESS pile.
  • Say your guesses clearly. If you speak out of turn, flip a card before guessing, or delay, you forfeit your turn.

Resetting for the Next Game

Change the dealer.

Reverse the direction of play.
