Setting up your Nex Playground is a straightforward process that will have you and your family enjoying interactive games in no time. Here’s a step-by-step guide to get you started learning how to setup your Nex Playground:
How to Setup Your Nex Playground
1. Unbox Your Nex Playground:
- Carefully remove the Nex Playground console, remote control, HDMI cable, USB-C power cable, and the adjustable stand from the packaging.
2. Position the Console:
- Place the Nex Playground console on a stable surface centered directly below or above your TV.
- If placing below the TV, ensure it’s at least 20 inches off the ground.
- If placing above the TV, such as on a mantle, ensure it’s no higher than 60 inches.
- Use the included adjustable stand to angle the console’s camera appropriately, ensuring it captures the play area.
3. Connect to Your TV:
- Plug one end of the HDMI cable into the Nex Playground console and the other end into an available HDMI port on your TV.
4. Power Up:
- Connect the USB-C power cable to the Nex Playground console.
- Plug the other end into a power adapter (any standard USB power adapter, like a phone charger, will suffice) and then into a power outlet.
5. Prepare the Remote Control:
- Insert the provided batteries into the remote control.
- The remote is primarily used for navigating menus; most games are played using body movements detected by the console’s camera.
6. Adjust Your Play Area:
- Clear a space of at least 6 feet by 6 feet in front of the TV to serve as your play area.
- Ensure the area is well-lit and free from obstacles to allow the camera to detect players accurately.
7. Power On and Follow On-Screen Instructions:
- Turn on your TV and set it to the HDMI input connected to the Nex Playground.
- Power on the Nex Playground console; it should display the setup screen.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to connect the console to your Wi-Fi network, create or log into your Nex account, and download any available software updates.
8. Start Playing:
- Once setup is complete, browse the game library and select a game to begin playing.
- Remember, the Nex Playground is designed for active play, so get ready to move and have fun!
Tips For Playing!
- Make sure your space is well lit (but avoid strong light directly behind or above you!).
- Avoid wearing clothes with patterns (or clothes that match the color of your walls).
- Clear your area of furniture (6-8ft)
- Try keeping the camera view free from crowds if you run into tracking issues
- Make sure to place the playground box directly in front of your TV (centered).
- Place the Playground box close to the edge so it sees as much as possible
- If your body doesn’t fit in the view, try using the optional tilt stand
- Make sure your TV’s Game Mode setting is on (to avoid lag).
