Throw Throw Burrito: Extreme Outdoor Edition is an energetic and fun game where players collect cards, earn points, and engage in dodgeball-style burrito battles. Here are the detailed rules for playing this exciting outdoor game:

Objective:

The objective of Throw Throw Burrito: Extreme Outdoor Edition is to collect sets of cards to score points while avoiding being hit by inflatable burritos during Burrito Battles. The player with the most points at the end of the game wins.

Components:

  • 120 Cards: Includes various sets of cards.

  • 2 Inflatable Burritos: Used for Burrito Battles.

  • 1 Fear Me Badge: Indicates the current winner of a Burrito Duel.

  • Score Tokens: Used to keep track of points.

Setup:

  1. Inflate the Burritos:

    • Inflate the two inflatable burritos using the provided pump or manually.

  2. Set Up the Playing Area:

    • Choose an open outdoor area free of obstacles and hazards, with enough space for players to move around safely.

    • Place the burritos in a central location accessible to all players.

  3. Shuffle the Cards:

    • Shuffle the 120 cards and deal 15 cards to each player.

    • Place the remaining cards face down in the center to form the draw pile.

  4. Distribute Score Tokens:

    • Each player starts with zero score tokens.

Gameplay:

  1. Drawing and Discarding Cards:

    • Players sit in a circle or around a table and draw cards from the draw pile to their right, adding them to their hand.

    • Players simultaneously discard cards to the player on their left to keep the game moving quickly.

    • The goal is to collect sets of three matching cards.

  2. Scoring Points:

    • When a player collects a set of three matching cards, they place them face up in front of them and draw three new cards from the draw pile.

    • Each set of three matching cards scores points, typically 1 point per set.

  3. Burrito Cards and Battles:

    • There are special Burrito Cards that trigger different types of battles when collected and played as a set of three:

      • Burrito Brawl: The players to the left and right of the player who played the set must quickly grab a burrito and throw it at each other. The first to be hit loses the battle and must take a Burrito Bruise token.

      • Burrito War: All players except the one who played the set must grab a burrito and throw it at any other player. The first to be hit loses the battle and must take a Burrito Bruise token.

      • Burrito Duel: The player who played the set chooses any two players to duel. These players stand back-to-back, take three paces, and then turn and throw the burrito at each other. The first to be hit loses the duel and must take a Burrito Bruise token.

  4. Burrito Bruises:

    • Each Burrito Bruise token represents a negative point.

    • Players must keep track of their Burrito Bruises as they affect the final score.

  5. Winning the Fear Me Badge:

    • The winner of a Burrito Duel receives the Fear Me Badge, which provides a bonus point at the end of the game.

End of the Game:

  • The game ends when all cards have been drawn and all possible sets have been played.

  • Players count their sets and subtract any Burrito Bruise tokens from their total score.

  • The player with the most points, considering the Fear Me Badge bonus, wins the game.

Additional Rules:

  • Safe Play: Ensure players throw the burritos at each other's torsos or legs to avoid injuries. No headshots allowed.

  • Fair Play: Players should not interfere with others' draws or discards, and all actions should be made in good spirit.

  • Boundary: Define clear boundaries for where players can run and throw during battles to keep everyone safe and contained within a reasonable area.

Tips for a Fun Game:

  • Warm-Up: Have a quick practice round to get everyone familiar with the game mechanics and the feel of the burritos.

  • Strategic Play: Encourage players to think strategically about which sets to collect and when to trigger battles.

  • Safety First: Remind players to throw gently and be mindful of their surroundings.

Throw Throw Burrito: Extreme Outdoor Edition combines the excitement of a card game with the physical fun of dodgeball. It's perfect for outdoor gatherings, parties, and family fun, providing a unique and entertaining experience for all participants.
