Neppis is a competitive game in Finland that simulates race driving. Played with small toy cars on sand, the "official" Neppis car is made of plastic, resembling a 1950s racing car. Here's how to play:

Objective:

To be the first player to successfully navigate your car around the entire track without flipping over or going off the track.

Equipment:

  • Small toy cars (typically made of plastic)

  • Sand or another suitable material to create a track

Gameplay:

  1. Track Creation: Create a track on a flat surface using sand or another suitable material. The track can be simple or complex, with curves, obstacles, and jumps.

  2. Car Placement: Each player places their car at the starting line.

  3. Flicking the Car: Players take turns flicking their cars with their forefinger, propelling them forward along the track.

  4. Obstacles and Penalties: If a car flips over ("kelli") or goes off the track, it must be returned to the starting point of that flick.

  5. Winning: The first player to successfully complete a full lap around the track without any major mishaps wins the game.

Additional Tips:

  • Practice makes perfect! The more you play, the better you'll become at controlling your car.

  • Experiment with different flicking techniques to find what works best for you.

  • Get creative with your track designs to add challenge and excitement.

Neppis is a fun and engaging game that can be enjoyed by people of all ages.
