Get ready for an exciting and fast-paced trivia adventure with CDSK! This game challenges your knowledge across various categories while keeping you on your toes with quick thinking and strategic moves. Here's how to play:
Setup
Setting up is quick and easy—just open the box! Your board is ready to go. You can shuffle the question cards if you like, but it's not necessary; they can stay in the box as they are. Try to divide into equal teams, though it's fine to give newer players more team members.
You'll need to find team pieces, as the game doesn't include any. Use whatever items you prefer—buttons, game pieces from another game, or anything else that resonates with you. Place these pieces above the Classic or Express starting points (not on the track yet), and you're set to begin!
Gameplay
CDSK is surprisingly straightforward. To start, your team selects one of the four categories:
Curious: Questions about very specific topics—either you know them, or you don’t.
Delightful: Questions about movies, sports, and other pop culture subjects.
Seasoned: Life-related questions that come from experience, often referred to as “school of life” knowledge.
Knowledge: Classic trivia questions covering history, geography, and similar subjects.
After choosing a category, a player from the team on your left will read a prompt. You'll rate your knowledge on a scale from 1 to 10, then choose a number corresponding to that level. The question for that number will be read, and you'll attempt to answer it. Discussing with your team is allowed.
If you answer correctly, move forward the number of spaces you chose. If you're wrong, stay put! On subsequent turns, you'll answer questions from the category on the space you're on. There are two special spaces:
Challenge Spaces: Answer timed, rapid-fire questions from a Challenge Card.
Hurry Up & Win Space: Answer a Hurry Up & Win question to win the game. If incorrect, stay and try again next turn.
The first team to answer a Hurry Up & Win question correctly wins!
Player Count Differences
The game supports up to 16 players but is essentially a four-team game, with each team operating as a single player. This allows for team discussions but doesn't change the core gameplay, except for potentially slowing it down. The game is more manageable with 2-4 players, avoiding the chaos of larger groups.
Strategy
Know your strengths and aim for categories you're confident in. Challenge Spaces are great for gaining an edge since you can advance with each correct answer rather than an all-or-nothing scenario.
Be cautious with 1-difficulty questions—they're often just humorous but can help you move off less favorable spaces. When near the Hurry Up & Win Space, plan your moves carefully to land on it without overshooting. Strategically choose your question difficulty based on the spaces you want to reach or avoid.
CDSK offers a thrilling blend of trivia and strategy that will test your knowledge and teamwork. Whether you're racing to the finish line or catching up with rapid-fire challenges, every moment is packed with fun and learning.
