Suppress Rules
Why Suppress?
Suppressing lets you gain power with fewer traits—ideal for combos with cards like Tiny.
Cards with the suppress effect can be identified by this symbol:
Scoring:
- Suppressed cards are worth +1 point each.
- They do not count as traits or for Drop of Life effects.
- Suppressed cards have no face value.
How to Suppress:
- Place a suppressed card face-down under any trait (not under Dominants).
- Any number of cards may be suppressed under a single trait.
- Like actions, if you can’t complete the suppress effect, you may still play the trait—but must suppress if able.
Important Notes:
- Suppressed cards are not actions.
- You cannot suppress under Dominants.
- You can suppress Dominants from your hand, but not from your pile.
- Suppressed cards cannot be swapped, stolen, or discarded. If the trait above them leaves play, suppressed cards go to the bottom of the trait deck.
Setup
- Set up the game as normal.
- Each age stack now includes:
- 1 Basic Age
- 1 Catastrophe
- 2 Merchant Ages
- Shuffle the trinkets to form the Trinket Deck (face-down).
- Each player gains 2 trinkets after traits are dealt. Keep 1, trash 1.
Trash Pile
- Trashed trinkets go face-up into a Trash Pile.
- If the Trinket Deck runs out, shuffle the trash pile to replenish it.
- It’s okay to run out of trinkets—just continue play.
Merchants
- Merchant cards act similarly to ages but interact with trinkets.
Trinkets
- Pocketing: Fulfill a trinket’s objective to place it face-down next to your trait pile.
Pocketed trinkets are safe and score points at the end. - Active Powers: While face-up, trinkets provide powers.
- At the start of an age, players without a face-up trinket gain 1.
Pocket Objectives
- Play: Play required traits.
- Reveal: Show required cards from your hand (anytime).
- Hand Discard: Discard required cards through effects or stabilizing.
- Trait Pile: Have specific traits in your trait pile.
- Draw: Draw required cards through effects or stabilizing.
- Trait Pile Removal: Have traits removed from your pile (for any reason).
World’s End & Scoring
- Trash all face-up trinkets at World’s End.
- Add the points from pocketed trinkets to your final score.
Conflicts
- Trinket powers override ages and trait effects.
Fuzelings
Contents:
- 9x Traits
- 1x Dominant
- 2x Ages
- 1x Catastrophe
Fuzelings are mishmashed medleys of Deeplings, Moonlings, and Glitterlings! They help you get bigger bonuses from Drop of Life effects and trigger new combos.
Deeplings
Contents:
- 16x Traits
- 2x Dominants
- 2x Ages
- 1x Catastrophe
The mysterious Deeplings lurk in fathomless darkness. They introduce Suppress, a new mechanic that helps you grow in power with smaller trait piles.
Glitterlings
Contents:
- 16x Traits
- 2x Dominants
- 2x Ages
- 1x Catastrophe
Like the catastrophes threatening their blissfully ignorant land, Glitterlings are completely random! They have no opponents—only friends! These sparkly oddballs thrive on chance. Close your eyes and hope for the best!
Magical Merchants
Contents:
- 11x Merchants
- 40x Trinkets
Swindlers peddling “spectacular” wares have set up shop in Enderas. This expansion adds a new layer of strategy through Trinkets and Objectives.
You’ll want to be comfortable with the classic game before diving into this module.
Moonlings
Contents:
- 16x Traits
- 2x Dominants
- 2x Ages
- 1x Catastrophe
Life doesn’t always make sense—Moonlings certainly don’t! To Doomlings, they’re aliens speaking a bizarre language.
These oddballs give generously and excel with low Gene Pools.
With Doomlings Imaginary Ends Expansion Rules, the world of Doomlings becomes even more vibrant, unpredictable, and strategic. Whether you’re suppressing traits with Deeplings, gambling with Glitterlings, or bartering with Magical Merchants, there’s something fantastical in every collection.
Be sure you’re familiar with the base game before diving in—and embrace the delightful chaos that follows.
Good luck. Have fun. And may your end of the world be wonderfully weird!
