How to Play First to Worst
Objective
The goal is to correctly guess how the other players will rank the scenarios and earn the most points.
Components
- Scenario Cards: Cards featuring various funny, awkward, or ridiculous situations.
- Ranking Cards: Cards numbered 1 through however many players are participating.
- Score Sheet (Optional): To keep track of points.
Setup
- Each player receives a set of Ranking Cards numbered from 1 to the number of players.
- Shuffle the Scenario Cards and place them face down in the center of the table.
Gameplay
- Reveal a Scenario: The player whose birthday is next (or a designated “first” player) draws a Scenario Card and reads it aloud.
- Individual Ranking: Each player, in secret, ranks the scenario using their Ranking Cards. “1” represents the best possible outcome, and the highest number represents the worst.
- Reveal Rankings: Once everyone has made their decision, players reveal their rankings simultaneously.
- Scoring:
- The player whose ranking is closest to the median ranking of all players scores a point.
- Example: if 5 players rank a scenario 1,2,3,4, and 5, the median is 3. If a player guessed 3, they get a point.
- Passing the Scenario Cards: The player to the left of the player who drew the scenario card, now draws the next scenario card.
- Continuing the Game: The game continues for a set number of rounds or until a player reaches a predetermined score.
Winning
The player with the most points at the end of the game wins.
Variations
- Team Play: Divide players into teams and have them discuss and agree on rankings.
- “Why?” Explanations: After revealing rankings, players can explain their reasoning, leading to even more laughs.
- Custom Scenarios: Have players create their own Scenario Cards to add personal humor.
Example Scenarios
- “Having your phone die at a concert.”
- “Getting stuck in an elevator with a stranger.”
- “Winning a lifetime supply of your least favorite food.”
- “Tripping in front of a crowd.”
- “Having a bird poop on your head.”
First to Worst is all about predicting how your friends will think, making it a hilarious and engaging party game.
