Frayzy is a quick, strategic, rummy-style card game for 2 to 4 players. The goal is simple: be the first to empty your hand by creating and extending sets and runs — but clever use of Wild and Action cards can turn the tide at any moment.

How to Play Frayzy
Setup
- Choose a dealer. The dealer shuffles the deck and deals 10 cards to each player.
- Place the remaining cards face down in the center as the Draw Pile.
- Flip the top card to start the Discard Pile.
- If it’s an Action card, immediately carry out its effect before the game begins.
- Play proceeds clockwise from the player to the dealer’s left.
Frayzy Gameplay
Each turn consists of three actions in order:
- Draw a card – You may draw the top card from either the Draw Pile or the Discard Pile (unless the top Discard is an Action card).
- Play sets and runs –
- Set: 3+ cards of the same number (any color).
- Run: 3+ cards in consecutive order of the same color (e.g., 3-4-5 Blue).
- Runs cannot go below 1 or above 12.
- You may also add to existing sets or runs that are already in play.
3. Discard a card – End your turn by placing one card face up on the Discard Pile.
You don’t have to play sets or runs every turn, but doing so helps reduce your hand size faster.
Wild Cards
- Wilds can substitute for any numbered card in a set or run.
- Each set or run may only include one Wild card at a time.
- You can swap a Wild from a played set/run by replacing it with the actual number it represents, taking the Wild into your hand.
- Wilds can also be used to extend other players’ sets and runs.
Action Cards
Action cards add chaos and strategy to the game. When you play one, place it face up on the Discard Pile, carry out its effect, and end your turn.
- Draw 5 – Choose any player (even yourself) to draw five cards. If that player is next in turn order, they draw an extra card at the start of their turn.
- Discard 1 – Instantly discard one other card from your hand.
- Skip – The next player’s turn is skipped.
Only one Action card can be played per turn.
Ending a Round
A round ends when:
- A player empties their hand, or
- The Draw Pile runs out of cards.
Once a round ends, tally scores, reshuffle, and rotate the dealer clockwise.
Scoring
At the end of each round:
- Numbered cards = 5 points each
- Wild and Action cards = 10 points each
The game continues until a player reaches 100 points. The player with the lowest score wins.
Tiebreaker: If players tie, the one with the lower score in the final round wins.
Example Play
Add red 7 and 8 to an existing run and play a new set of 7s.
Play a set of 2s and a 9–12 run with a Wild for red 10.
Swap a red 10 for a Wild in a run and keep the Wild.
Variations
- Extended Play: For a longer game, raise the target score to 200 points.
Strategy Tips
- Play early, play often. Holding cards too long increases your penalty risk.
- Use Draw 5 early to increase your options — or late to disrupt opponents.
- Avoid stockpiling Action cards since you can only play one per turn.
