How to Play SLAPZI

OBJECTIVE

SLAPZI is a fast-paced matching game where the goal is simple: be the first player to get rid of all five of your picture cards!

SETUP

  1. Deal five picture cards face up in front of each player.
  2. Place the clue card deck in the center, face down.

SLAPZI GAMEPLAY

  1. Any player flips over the top clue card and places it in the middle.
  2. All players race to find one of their picture cards that matches the clue.
    • Example: If the clue is “It’s round”, valid matches could be a basketball, the moon, or a coin.
  3. The first player to slap down a correct picture card onto the clue card discards that picture card.
  4. Flip the next clue card and continue.
  5. The first player to discard all five picture cards wins! 🎉

IMPORTANT RULES

  • Disputes: If most players agree that a slapped card doesn’t fit the clue, the player must take their card back and draw an extra penalty card.
  • SLAPZI Wild Cards: When a SLAPZI clue card appears, players may slap down any picture card. The fastest player gets to discard that card.
  • Image Matters: Only the picture on the card counts. (Example: If the clue is “Mostly blue”, but the picture is a red suitcase, that doesn’t count—even if blue suitcases exist!)
  • The Mighty Slapper (optional): Instead of players flipping clue cards, assign one person as the Mighty Slapper—the official flipper, reader, and judge. Perfect for playing with younger kids.
