How to Play Slice: A Pizza Game
What’s in the Box
- 24 Pizza Order cards
- 128 Pizza Slice cards
- This rulebook
The goal is simple: complete your pizza orders before anyone else. The first player to finish three pizzas joins the upper crust!
Setting Up the Game
- Prepare the decks:
- Shuffle the Pizza Order cards and place them face-down.
- Shuffle the Pizza Slice cards and place them face-down as the draw pile.
- Deal to each player:
- 1 Pizza Order card (face-up)
- 8 Pizza Slice cards (face-down) arranged in a circle around your order — your pizza!
- Choose a starting Drawer (the player with the quickest hands is a good choice).
How to Play
On Your Turn
The Drawer flips a card from the draw pile into the center to create the Open Pile.
- If the card matches a topping on your Pizza Order card, slap it first to grab it.
- If multiple players grab simultaneously, the hand covering the most of the card wins.
- If nobody grabs it, the Drawer silently counts to three and draws the next card.
If you grab a card:
- Replace a matching face-down slice on your pizza with the new card and reveal it.
- If the revealed card matches another topping on your order, continue swapping until no matches remain.
- Place unmatched cards face-up in the Open Pile for other players to grab.
Important: The Drawer cannot grab cards during their turn. The player who grabs a card becomes the new Drawer.
Getting Burned
Grab a card you don’t need? You’re “burned”:
- All your face-up slice cards go to the Open Pile. Hot Sauce cards remain in play.
- Collect the entire Open Pile and place it at the bottom of the draw pile.
- Draw new face-down cards to refill your pizza circle.
- You become the new Drawer.
Completing a Pizza
When all 8 slices match your order:
- Place your last replaced card face-down next to your pizza (hidden).
- Move all Pizza Slice cards to the Open Pile and place it at the bottom of the draw pile.
- Draw a new Pizza Order card and 8 new face-down slices.
- Turn your hidden card over and place it on the Open Pile.
You continue as the new Drawer, racing to complete your next pizza.
Special Cards
Hot Sauce Cards
- Block opponents by placing them on face-down slices.
- Blocks are removed with a Combo card or a matching slice.
- Both cards then go to the Open Pile.
- You cannot block a slice that is already blocked.
Combo Cards
- Act as wildcards to complete any pizza slice.
- Can also remove Hot Sauce blocks from your pizza.

Optional Rules
Two-Player Game
- Drawer uses their non-dominant hand.
- Both players use their dominant hand to grab cards.
Pizza Reset
- If your pizza gets burned or you choose, discard all cards, including Hot Sauce blocks, and start with 8 new face-down slices.
- High-risk, high-reward option for tough situations.
Useful Tips
- Keep your grabbing hand flat on the table between turns for faster play.
- Reveal cards on your pizza discreetly to prevent opponents from seeing.
- Discard cards by placing them face-down on the Open Pile and flipping quickly.
- Pay attention to pizza toppings you’ve already collected.
- Use Combo cards wisely to overcome Hot Sauce and complete pizzas.
Winning the Game
The first player to complete three pizza orders is crowned the winner and rises to the upper crust. May the fastest, most strategic pizza chef win!
