How to Play Slingz
Objective:
- The goal is to be the first player to discard all of your letter cards.
Gameplay:
- Setup:
- Each player is dealt 5 letter cards.
- One card is placed face-up in the center of the table, revealing a theme or category.
- Playing:
- Players race to think of words or short phrases that fit the revealed theme and begin with one of the letters in their hand.
- When a player thinks of a word, they “sling” their letter card onto the center pile, saying the word aloud.
- Play continues until three letter cards have been played onto the center pile.
- Changing Themes:
- Once three cards are played, the player who placed the third card flips the top card of the center pile to reveal a new theme.
- Play then resumes with the new theme.
- Winning:
- The first player to discard all 5 of their letter cards wins the round.
- Scoring:
- Players count the amount of lightning bolts on the cards left in their hand. High scores are bad.
- A target score is set, and the player with the lowest score wins the game.
