How to Play Sosig (Rules)
Objective
Earn the most points by building the longest and loveliest sosigs, completing special orders and awards, and throwing off your opponents. The player with the highest score becomes the Top Chef of the Sosig Feast!
Components
- 24 Sosig Heads
- 40 Sosig Bodies
- 16 Order Goals
- 9 Award Goals
- 24 Mystery Meats
- 4 Reference Cards
- Sosig Rules
Setup
- Give each player a reference card.
- Sort the cards into five decks: Head, Body, Order, Award, and Mystery Meat.
- Shuffle each deck separately.
- Place the Order Goals deck in the center and flip over 2 cards face-up.
- Reveal 1 Award Goal and place it face-up; return the rest to the box.
- Shuffle and place the Mystery Meat deck.
- Place the Sosig Body deck and flip over 2 cards face-up.
If playing with fewer than 4 players, remove some Head cards (see below), then deal 1 face-up Head to each player. Place the remaining Head deck nearby and reveal 1 card face-up.
Gameplay
- Take 1 Head or Body from either the face-up display or top of the deck and place it in your own play area to create Sosigs. Replenish any taken face-up cards.
- Place Head and Body cards to build up your Sosigs. Placed cards don’t need to continue an existing Sosig, as long as any side is touching another without being blocked.
- Sosig cards cannot be roated or moved after being placed.
Order Goals
On your turn, if you complete a Sosig that meets an Order Goal card, claim the card and replenish it. Multiple cards may be claimed on a turn, but you cannot claim for Sosigs completed on a previous turn.
There are two types of Order Goals: Shape and Length.
- Shape: Make the displayed shape of Sosig in any orientation, or mirrored. When completing this type of Order, you gain points towards end game, but also a Mystery Meat card.
- Length: Make the displayed length of Sosig (total cards). This type scores points at the end of the game.
Award Goals
Each game will play with 1 of the 9 Award Goals. This provides an overall goal towards the end of the game.
At the end of the game, the player that most exceeds (or ties with) the minimum requirements gets +4 points. Only completed Sosigs are vaild for Sosig Awards.
Anyone that fails to meet the minimum requirement of the award loses -2 points.
Mystery Meat
Take a Mystery Meat card when you complete both halves of the Mystery Spinner icon on Sosig cards or by claiming Shape Order Goals.
Play instantly or during one of your turns.

Burn!
Cover a player’s matching Sosig card with this card. These score 0 points when scoring.

Chomp!
Add this 0 point card to the end of a player’s Sosig, making their Sosig ‘Partial’ for -2 points.

Baby Sosig!
Keep alongside any claimed Order Goals for +1 point.
Sosig Powers
Each Head and Body card earns 1 point by default and also has a unique effect.
Meaty!
Count the total number of Meaty cards across all players and Sosigs. The player with the most Meaty cards gains +4 points. If there’s a tie, all tied players score points.
The player with the second-most Meaty cards earns +2 points, unless playing with only 2 players, in which case these points are not awarded.
Pastry
Pastry links cannot be affected by Burn cards or have a Chomp card attached to them.
Saucy!
When you add a new Saucy section to an existing Saucy section within the same Sosig, take an extra free turn.
Spicy!
Each Sosig with 2 or more Spicy cards scores +1 point.
End Game Conditions
When either the Body or Head stack have been depleted to their final card, the game end is trigged. The next player must take that final card from the stack and place it into their play area. After that, go directly to end game scoring.
Scoring

1. Discard Invalid
Discard single cards or Sosigs without any Heads.

2. Add Sosigs
Count 1 point for each Sosig card (except Burn and Chomp). Then, add any extra points for Spicy and Meaty cards.

3. Deduct Partials
-2 points for each Sosig with 1 Head or Chomped.

4. Add Order Goals
Add the combined score of Order Goals.

5. Award Goal
Add or deduct any points for the Award Goal.
After adding together all the points for scoring your sausages, the player with the most points is the Top Sosig Chef and this game’s “Wiener!”
So there you have it! All the Sosig rules and general gameplay. We hope you enjoy playing this fun, family-friendly card game.
