Splurt is a fast-paced, fun card game where players race to make quick decisions and match cards. The game is played with a standard deck of 52 cards, and the goal is to be the first to get rid of all your cards by matching numbers or suits with cards in the center. Players take turns placing cards in the center pile while following the rules of matching. If no match is possible, players draw from the central draw pile until they can make a move. The first player to empty their hand wins the game.

How to Play Splurt
Object of the Game
In Splurt, players race to shout out answers that fit two criteria shown on the cards. The first player to call out a correct answer wins the round and collects the cards. The player with the most cards at the end of the game wins!
Game Contents
- 27 Double-Sided Cards
Setup
- Prepare the Cards: Cut out the cards and separate them into two piles — one with pink borders and one with white borders.
- Shuffle the Decks: Shuffle both piles separately.
- Place the Cards: Set the two piles face down next to each other in the center of the play area.
Gameplay
- Flip the Cards: Turn over the top card from each pile at the same time — one pink-bordered and one white-bordered card.
- Race to Answer: All players now race to shout out a word or phrase that matches both criteria shown on the cards.
- For example, if one card says “Something found in a kitchen” and the other says “Starts with B,” acceptable answers could be “Bowl,” “Butter,” or “Blender.”
- Collect the Cards: The first player to call out a correct answer takes both cards.
- Start the Next Round: Flip the next top cards from each pile and repeat the process.
Additional Rules
- If two or more players tie, or if everyone agrees that no valid answer exists, place the pink-bordered card at the bottom of its pile and flip a new one.
- If there’s disagreement over whether an answer is valid, the group votes. Majority rules. In the case of a tie, the player who gave the answer wins the dispute.
Ending the Game
When all cards have been played, the game ends.
The player who has collected the most cards is the winner!
