How to Play Struggle for CATAN
Objective
The goal is to be the first player to reach 10 victory points by constructing settlements, roads, cities, and knights while managing resources effectively.
Setup
1. Players
- 2 to 4 players.
2. Cards and Setup
- Each player starts with a resource supply consisting of lumber, brick, grain, ore, and wool.
- The game includes building, resource, and knight cards.
- Victory points are tracked through the buildings and knights you construct.
Gameplay
1. Acquiring Resources
- Players draw resource cards based on the supply and gameplay actions.
- Trading is allowed, either with the supply or with other players (if available).
2. Building and Upgrading
- Players spend resources to construct roads, settlements, cities, and knights.
- Settlements and cities provide victory points and increase resource income.
- Knights provide strategic advantages, including stealing resources from opponents.
3. Trading and Interaction
- Players can trade resources with the supply or with other players, making negotiation key.
- Certain cards allow players to steal or block resources.
4. Winning the Game
- The game ends when a player reaches 10 victory points.
- If multiple players reach 10 points on the same turn, the player with the highest total wins.
