How to Play Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza
Object of the Game
Be the first player to get rid of all your cards and successfully slap the central pile when a match or special card appears.
Contents
- 64 Cards
- 2–8 Players
- Ages 8+
- Playtime: About 10 minutes

Setup
- Shuffle the deck and deal all cards as evenly as possible to players.
- With 2–5 players, deal 12 cards each and return any extras to the box.
- Players place their cards face down in a personal draw pile.
- No one may look at their cards before playing.
Key Terms:
- Draw Pile – Your personal stack of cards.
- Central Pile – The shared pile in the middle of the table.
- Match – When the card placed matches the word spoken.
Taco Cat Goat Chesse Pizza Gameplay
- The player to the dealer’s left starts by flipping over the top card of their pile into the center, saying “Taco.”
- The next player does the same, placing their card face-up while saying “Cat.”
- Play continues clockwise with each player flipping a card and saying the next word in sequence:
Taco → Cat → Goat → Cheese → Pizza → Taco → …
Matches
If the word spoken matches the card placed (e.g., saying “Pizza” while flipping a Pizza card):
- Everyone races to slap the pile.
- The last person to slap takes the entire central pile and places it at the bottom of their draw pile.
- The player who picked up the pile begins the next round with “Taco.”
Special Cards
Three special cards trigger actions before the slap:
- Gorilla – Beat your chest with both hands.
- Groundhog – Knock on the table with both hands.
- Narwhal – Place your hands together above your head to form a horn.
After performing the action, all players must slap the pile. The last player to slap, or anyone who does the wrong action, collects the pile.
Additional Rules
- Flinching: If you slap at the wrong time or even flinch toward the pile, you must take the pile.
- Pace: Keep a steady rhythm. If you hesitate, forget the sequence, or pause too long, you must pick up the pile.
- No Peeking: Cards must be flipped outward so you cannot see them before revealing. Looking at your card earns you the pile.
- Out of Cards: Even if you have no cards left, you must keep saying words in turn and slap during matches and special cards.
Winning the Game
The winner is the first player to have no cards left and correctly slap the pile during a match or special card.
