- Instructions
Setup
- Choose your side – Each player decides whether they’ll be a Taco or a Burrito. The choice doesn’t affect gameplay.
- Shuffle and deal – Deal 5 cards to each player. Keep your hand secret.
- Create the Draw Pile – Place the remaining deck face-down in the center.
- Make the Trash Pile – Leave space beside the Draw Pile for discarded cards.
- Check for Health Inspectors – If anyone is dealt a Health Inspector, shuffle it back into the deck and draw a new card.
- Decide who starts – The youngest player goes first. Play proceeds clockwise.
Taco vs Burrito Gameplay
On each turn, draw one card and play one card. Players take turns clockwise.
You may:
- Play an Ingredient, Tummy Ache, or Hot Sauce Boss card into any Taco or Burrito (even someone else’s).
- Play an Action Card (like No Bueno, Trash Panda, Food Fight, or Order Envy).
- Discard a card if you can’t or don’t want to play one (this ends your turn).
Game End
When the Draw Pile runs out, continue playing until a player plays their last card. You can’t block a player’s final card. Then, everyone totals their points.
Scoring
- Add up all Ingredient values.
- Subtract any Tummy Aches.
- Multiply your total by 2 for each Hot Sauce Boss (x4 if you have two).
The player with the highest score wins!
Action Cards Explained
Health Inspector
If you draw this card, your entire meal is immediately trashed and your turn ends. This card cannot be blocked.
No Bueno
Blocks another player’s card. You can even block a No Bueno with another No Bueno (making it Sà Bueno). Cannot block Health Inspector or a player’s final card.
Crafty Crow
Steal any one card from another player’s meal and place it in your own.
Trash Panda
Retrieve one card from the Trash Pile and add it to your hand. You may even take a Health Inspector or another Trash Panda (maximum twice per game).
Food Fight
Everyone flips a card from the Draw Pile. The player who reveals the highest-value Ingredient wins and keeps one flipped card. Remaining cards are shuffled back into the Draw Pile.
Order Envy
Swap your hand and entire meal with another player. You can even swap seats if you’d like! Cannot be blocked after the switch happens.
