How to Play Tortilla Slap

Overview

Tortilla Slap is a fast-paced party game of reflexes, luck, and laughter. Players take turns flipping cards and trying not to get slapped—with a tortilla. The goal is to be the last player standing by avoiding elimination through matching card reactions and quick thinking.

• 74 Playing Cards
  • 54 Number Cards
  • 10 Tortilla Slap Cards
  • 10 Whackamole Cards
• 1 Foam Tortilla
• 1 Instruction Booklet

Setup

1. Sit in a circle with 3–6 players.
2. Shuffle the rest of the cards and deal them evenly to all players. Note: If you are playing with 3 players, onlydeal 20 cards each
3. Each player places their deck face-down in front of them.
4. Place the tortilla in the center of the group
5. The player who most recently ate a burrito gets to go first (quesadilla is also acceptable!).

Objective

Be the last player remaining. Eliminate others by winning tortilla slap rounds or catching them on reaction cards.

Gameplay

1. Take Turns Flipping Cards

• Players go clockwise, flipping the top card from their deck and placing it face-up in front of them.
• Play then continues with the next player flipping their top card.

2. Flipping Burrito Cards

• If the card is a burrito, slap your hand on the pile as fast as possible (you might want to remove jewelry!).
• The first player to slap the cards gets to slap the slowest player with the burrito
• The slowest player then adds all the cards in the pile to the bottom of their deck and shuffles their cards. They now start the next round.

3. No Burrito Cards

• If the card is a “No Burrito” card, do not react!
• If any player flinches or goes to slap the pile, the player to their left gets to slap them with the tortilla.
• That player then begins a new round. They do not have to pick up the pile.

Note: If multiple players react, only the first player to do so gets slapped

4. Matching Cards

• IF the card matches the No Burrito card beneath it, now is the time to slap!
  • Try to slap the pile as fast as possible

5. Whackamole Cards

• If the card flipped onto the pile is a Whackamole card, race to slap the tortilla as fast as possible.
• The fastest player gets to use 2 slaps on whoever they want.
• No player picks up the middle pile .
• The last player to get slapped starts the next round.

Winning the Game

If you discard all the cards in your pile, shout “TORTILLA!” and win the game.

IF you get to you last card and don’t yell “TORTILLA!”, pick up the middle pile and the game continues.

You can either end the game there, or other players can continue for second, third, or fourth place.
