FAQs
The goal is to create the funniest memes by pairing a photo card with the most hilarious caption card from your hand. Each round’s new judge decides which player created the funniest pairing, earning that player a trophy or point toward victory.
Players take turns being the judge. On your turn, draw a photo card and place it on the easel. The other players secretly choose one of their caption cards that they think best matches or adds humor to the photo. The judge reads the submissions aloud and picks the winning caption card.
Each time your caption is chosen as the funniest, you earn a trophy (or point). The first player to collect a set number of trophies wins. The ultimate winner is the one who consistently delivers the funniest memes round after round.
The bonus rules introduce twists to increase humor and spontaneity. These may include extra challenges, new ways to submit captions, or speed rounds where everyone has limited time to play. They’re perfect for groups who want to keep the game unpredictable and high-energy.
The judge role rotates clockwise each turn so everyone gets a chance to decide the funniest pairing. The new judge cannot submit a caption during their round.
Yes! The game includes blank caption cards so you can add your own jokes, inside references, or pop-culture moments for a personal twist.
If the judge can’t decide, players can vote or settle it with a quick bonus round. The winner of that tiebreaker gets the trophy for the round.
The Shotgun Edition is faster-paced, easier to carry, and perfect for on-the-go play. It’s designed for shorter sessions but still keeps the same humor and funniest memes gameplay of the main game.
Final Thoughts
WHAT DO YOU MEME? Shotgun! is perfect for passing time on the road with quick laughs and creative competition. The game is easy to learn, endlessly re-playable, and suitable for both friends and family. Just don’t forget to yell “Shotgun!” before someone else does.
