Granny Pants Gameplay
Remember, feel free to create your own game modes and fun challenges! There’s really no limit to how you can use Granny Pants.
Basic Rules
- Players take individual turns wearing the Granny Pants and trying to complete the course.
- As they race to finish the course, their team tries to land as many balls into the pants as they can.
- Teammates should stay a good distance away from the course as they throw (the distance can be changed based on the age of the players, e.g. shorter for children and longer for adults).
- After finishing the course, the player counts the balls that remained in the pants and notes the score. The player then removes the pants and passes them to the next player.
- Note: If the player falls before completing the course, play passes to the next team and no points are scored!
- After all players have completed a run, the team with the highest score wins!

Optional Game Modes
- Cooperative Mode: One person puts on the pants and stands behind a white line. Another line is draw between 5-20ft away (where players will throw from). Players then take turns trying to throw the balls into the pants. Less competative and more light-hearted fun. Good for large groups.
- Sabotage Mode: While one person from a team races to complete the course, people from the other team throw as many balls into the pants as they can, with the hope that the person falls down and is not able to complete the course.
- Relay Mode: Each player takes turns running the course with all the balls in the pants while the other times them, and the fastest team wins. If a player falls while trying to complete the course, they must refill the pants and start again!
- Obstacle Bonus: Add more obstacles or extra ball challenges for points (e.g. if you end the course with a certain amount of balls in the pants, a bonus is added).
Safety Tips
- Play on soft grass to prevent falls.
- Make sure pants are stretched properly to avoid tripping.
- Supervise younger players during the relay.
- Clear the area of sharp objects or hazards.
Strategy Tips
- If playing a relay style game, practice pants transfers to save time.
- Balance the ball carefully to avoid dropping it.
- Assign the fastest or most coordinated players to key positions if using cumulative team scoring.
- Encourage steady pacing; rushing can cause slips or mistakes.
Granny Pants FAQ
The game works best with 4 or more players. Since there’s only one pair of oversized pants, players take turns in a relay-style challenge rather than racing side-by-side.
Players form two or more teams. The first player on each team takes a turn running the course in the pants, then quickly removes them and passes them to the next teammate. The team that finishes all runs first wins.
Yes! With two players, it becomes more of a timed challenge. Each player takes turns running the course with all the balls in the pants while the other times them, and the fastest time wins. If a player falls while trying to complete the course, they must refill the pants and start again!
For Relay Mode yes, part of the fun and challenge is keeping the balls inside the oversized pants while moving. If they fall out, the player must stop, pick them up, and continue. Other modes like Sabotage Mode encourages you to have less balls in the pants.
Definitely! You can set up cones, zig-zags, hurdles, or even a “granny dance-off” checkpoint to make the game sillier and more competitive.
Yes, the game is designed for both kids and adults. However, young children should be supervised, as running with oversized pants and bouncing balls can be a bit clumsy.
Wipe them down with a damp cloth and mild soap, then air dry before storing.
