How to Play Minecraft Explorers
Objective
In Minecraft Explorers, your goal is to work cooperatively with other players to fill all but one of the Chest cards with the correct items before the Game Over card is revealed from the Mob deck.
Game Setup
- Sort Cards by Type: Separate all cards into Landscape, Mob, Chest, Hunger, and special cards.
- Landscape Cards: Shuffle with the landscape side face up. Place five face down in the center without peeking at their item sides.
- Mob Cards: Shuffle and remove a specific number based on player count:
- 1 Player: remove 8
- 2 Players: remove 7
- 3 Players: remove 6
- 4 Players: remove 5 Then shuffle the Game Over card into the bottom 5 Mob cards and place them under the deck. Reveal the top card and place it beside the deck.
- Chest Cards: Choose difficulty and draw:
- Easy: 5 chests
- Normal: 6 chests
- Hard: 7 chests
- Hardcore: 8 chests Place them item-side up. Recommended for your first game: chests 1–5.
- Start Player: The last person to play Minecraft starts with the Night card and six Hunger cards.
Taking Your Turn
Each player uses their six Hunger cards to take actions. There are no limits on how many or what order you use them, as long as you have Hunger to spend.
Available Actions
- Explore a Landscape
- Reveal New Landscapes
- Fight a Mob
- Fill a Chest
You can strategize with teammates but take actions individually. Your turn ends when you run out of Hunger or choose to stop.
