How to Play Slip It In
OBJECTIVE
Be the first player to “Slip It In” five times without getting caught. To successfully Slip It In, a player must casually say the phrase on their Slip during normal conversation without drawing suspicion. There’s no time limit—the game can be played over an hour, a night, a weekend, or even a millennium.
SETUP
- Give each player five Slips, each containing a random, ridiculous phrase.
- Players may read and memorize their phrases but can keep them in a pocket or nearby to reference as needed.
- Place the game box somewhere central—used Slips will go into the discard slot.
HOW TO PLAY
Successful Slip
- Casually work one of your phrases into conversation.
- If no one calls you out within 30 seconds, you can proudly declare: “I SLIPPED IT IN!”
- Reveal your Slip, then discard it into the box—you’re one step closer to winning.
Failed Slip
- If another player calls out your attempt within the 30 seconds by shouting, “THAT WAS A SLIP!”, and they’re correct:
- Discard the Slip and draw a new one.
- The player who caught you gets to swap out one of their own Slips for a new one.
False Callout
- If a player falsely accuses someone of slipping it in:
- They must draw an additional Slip as a penalty.
WINNING THE GAME
The first player to successfully complete all five Slips is crowned the Slip It In Champion of the Universe.
GROUND RULES
- Only one other player needs to hear your Slip for it to count. (But slipping it past the whole group? Way more satisfying.)
- Slips must be spoken aloud—no texting, writing, or sign language.
- Speaking it over the phone does count.
- For longer phrases, exact wording isn’t required as long as the spirit of the Slip is clear.
Conclusion
Slip It In is a low-pressure, high-laughter party game that fits seamlessly into your evening without dominating it. If you love sneaky challenges and social trickery, you’ll also enjoy games like Talk Flirt Dare, The Chameleon, or Put A Finger Down. So gather your friends, sharpen your poker face, and see who’s the slipperiest talker in the group.
