How to Play sussed?
Introduction
Sussed? is a social party card game where players try to guess each other’s personalities, opinions, and habits based on questions and multiple-choice answers. It’s all about reading people, bluffing a little, and figuring out what your friends really think.
The game includes several different modes, so you can switch things up depending on how competitive or chaotic you want it to be. Most versions rotate between a reader (the person answering questions) and sussers (everyone guessing).
Here are the four main game modes:
Let’s break down the main game modes in a simple way.
Guess My Answer
Setup
Each player gets:
- 1 Sussed question card
- 1 A, 1 B, and 1 C answer card
Then:
- Choose a first reader
- Everyone else becomes sussers
- Decide if you want to keep score
If scoring:
- Points are tracked using the backs of the Sussed cards
How to Play
Each round is pretty simple:
Step 1: Read the Question
The reader looks at their card and reads the question + 3 answer options.
Example:
- “Would you rather be a voice actor, fortune cookie writer, or teddy bear designer?”
Step 2: Reader Chooses an Answer
The reader secretly picks their answer:
- They choose A, B, or C
- Place the chosen card face down
This is their “true” answer.
Step 3: Everyone Else Guesses
All sussers:
- Choose what they think the reader picked
- Place their A/B/C card face down
Step 4: Reveal and Score
- Everyone flips cards at the same time
- The reader reveals their choice
- Players explain their reasoning
Scoring:
- Each susser who guessed correctly gets 1 point
Then roles rotate and the next player becomes the reader.
Winning the Game
- Each player becomes reader three times
- After all rounds, highest score wins
Guess the Top Answer
Setup
Same basic setup:
- Each player gets a Sussed card
- Each player gets A, B, C cards
- Pick a starting reader
How to Play
Step 1: Reader Reads Question
The reader reads the question out loud.
Step 2: Sussers Pick What THEY Think Others Will Choose
Instead of guessing the reader’s answer, sussers:
- Pick the answer they think MOST players will choose
- Place card face down
Step 3: Reader Guesses the Group Answer
The reader now guesses:
- Which answer most players chose
They place their own A/B/C card face down.
If they think it’s split evenly, they can play multiple cards.
Step 4: Reveal
- Sussers reveal their choices
- Reader reveals their guess
Scoring:
- If the reader guesses the most popular answer correctly → 1 point
Winning the Game
- Each player is reader 3 times
- Highest score wins
Guess Whose Card It Is
Setup
Each player gets:
- Sussed card
- A/B/C cards
Choose a reader to start.
How to Play
Step 1: Everyone Answers Silently
- Reader reads the question
- Players choose their real answer secretly
- Cards are placed face down
Step 2: Shuffle Answers
- All submitted cards are mixed up
- Reader doesn’t know who gave what
Step 3: Debate Phase
- Reader flips one card at random
- Everyone argues why it might be theirs
- You only have about 15 seconds per round
This is where things get funny and chaotic.
Step 4: Reader Makes a Guess
- Reader assigns the card to a player
- That player reveals if it was theirs
Scoring
- Reader scores 1 point if they guessed correctly
- The chosen player also scores 1 point (even if they lied or not)
Winning the Game
- Each player is reader 3 times
- Highest score wins
Guess Who I Am
Setup
Each player gets:
- Sussed card
- A/B/C cards
- Start with 6 shared group points
Important:
- Everyone plays as a team
- The group must avoid hitting 0 points
How to Play
Step 1: Secret Role Choice
The reader:
- Chooses another player to “become”
- Answers questions as if they are that player
- Keeps it secret
Step 2: Ask and Reveal
- Reader shows the chosen answer card
- Reads the question and answers aloud
Step 3: Group Guesses the Imposter
- Everyone discusses who the reader is pretending to be
- Must agree on one player
They can ask follow-up questions, but:
- Each extra question costs 1 group point
Step 4: Reveal
- Reader reveals the truth
Outcomes:
- If the group guesses correctly → game continues
- If wrong → everyone loses immediately
Winning the Game
The group wins if:
- All players take turns as reader
- The group still has points left
The group loses if:
- They guess wrong at any point
- Or run out of points
Tips to Play Better
- Pay attention to personality patterns, not just answers
- Bluffing is part of the fun—don’t take answers too seriously
- In group modes, listen more than you talk
- Don’t overthink every choice—gut instinct helps
- Try different roles to see how people perceive you
Conclusion
Sussed? is a flexible party game that’s really about people more than cards. Every mode turns simple multiple-choice questions into social guessing, bluffing, and sometimes hilarious misunderstandings.
If you like this style of game, you might also enjoy We’re Not Really Strangers, which also focuses on personality insight and social guessing—but in a more reflective, conversation-based way.
Sussed? proves that guessing what people think is harder (and funnier) than it looks.
