Official Blokus Duo Rules

Blokus Duo is a two-player strategy game where players take turns placing pieces on a grid, aiming to cover as much of the board as possible. Each piece must touch another piece of the same color at the corners. The player who covers the most space while blocking their opponent wins. Simple to learn but full of strategic depth!

Objective

The goal is to cover as much of the board as possible with your colored pieces. The player who covers the most space wins.

Setup:

• The game is played on a 14×14 grid.
• Each player has 21 pieces of different shapes and sizes, all in their color.
• Players take turns placing pieces on the board, starting with the player who goes first.

Gameplay

1. First Move: The first player must place a piece in one of the four corners of the grid.
2. Subsequent Moves: For each following move, a piece must touch another piece of the same color at the corners. Pieces cannot touch along the sides.
3. Placement Restrictions: No piece can be placed outside the grid, and pieces must be placed fully within the boundaries of the grid.
4. Blocking: Players must strategically place their pieces to block the opponent’s moves, forcing them into tight spots.
5. Final Move: The game ends when both players can no longer place a piece.

Winning

The player with the most pieces remaining on the board at the end of the game wins. If both players run out of moves, the game ends and the player who has covered the most area wins

Tips:

Try to place large pieces early to avoid getting boxed in.
