How to Play Hedbanz Blast Off!

Objective

Be the first team to correctly guess three cards in a round. Win three rounds to become the overall champion.

Setup

  1. Divide into Teams – Split players into two teams.
  2. Choose a Guesser – Each team picks one player to wear the Blastoff Timer Headband.
  3. Shuffle the Cards – Place the deck within reach of all players.

Gameplay

A round consists of players taking turns as the Guesser while their teammates provide clues.

1. Insert the Card

The Guesser, without looking, places a card into their Blastoff Timer Headband.

2. Start the Timer

Turn the timer knob to activate the countdown. The card will launch if time runs out!

3. Ask Questions

The Guesser asks yes-or-no questions to identify the image on their card.

4. Team Provides Clues

Teammates can only respond with one-word hints or sounds—no full sentences allowed!

5. Guess the Answer
  • If the Guesser gets it right before the timer runs out, they insert a new card and reset the timer.
  • If time expires, the card blasts off, and they must start over with a new card.

Winning the Game

  • The first team to correctly guess three cards in a round wins that round.
  • The first team to win three rounds wins the game!

Notes/Variations

  • Players can rotate who wears the headband each round.
  • If a card blasts off, teammates can no longer give clues, and the Guesser must move on.
  • Some versions allow sound effects and charades-style gestures instead of words.
