Slide the adjustable band through the slots on the electronic light-up unit.
  2. Choose Game Mode
Decide whether to play individually or in teams. The core rules remain the same, with a few added steps for team play.
  3. Select the First Guesser

Keep the remaining cards nearby. You’ll reload the headband at the start of each new round.

Hedbanz Lightspeed Gameplay

Starting a Round

The Guesser presses the button on the front of the unit. Sounds will play, and one of the three light sections will activate. The color tells the Clue Givers how to give clues for the current card.

Players continue giving clues and guessing until time expires or the Guesser identifies all three cards.

Clue Modes (Light Colors)

1. Act It Out – Green Light

Clue Givers must perform silent charades-style actions.
No talking and no sound effects.

2. Ask Me a Question – Orange/Yellow Light

The Guesser may ask unlimited yes-or-no questions.
Clue Givers may only respond “yes” or “no.”

3. Just 3 Clues – Blue Light

Clue Givers may only speak in three-word clues.
They can say anything except the word shown on the card.

Guessing Cards

The Guesser can make as many guesses as they want.
When a card is guessed correctly:

• It is removed from the headband
• The next card becomes visible
• Clue Givers immediately switch to giving clues for the new card

The light may change modes at any time, forcing Clue Givers to adjust on the fly.

The child, who appears excited, is wearing a light green headband with the game unit on the front, which has a glowing yellow-green question mark and a card inserted on top.

End of the Round

The round stops when:

• The Guesser identifies all three cards, or
• The unit plays applause or begins cycling lights

Each correctly guessed card is worth 1 point.
Players keep their guessed cards to track their score.

The headband and card setup then passes to the next Guesser.

Winning the Game

Before starting, agree on how many rounds you will play. Every player should serve as the Guesser the same number of times. After the final round, everyone totals their points. The player with the highest score wins.

Team Rules (Optional Mode)

If playing with teams, follow these changes:

Team Setup

Players split into two teams.
For each round:

• The active team chooses one teammate as the Guesser
• The opposing team draws five cards and arranges them in the headband (hardest card first)

Team Gameplay

Only one Clue Giver is active at a time. When the light changes color, the role switches to a new teammate.

Team Scoring

• Each correctly guessed card = 1 point for your team
• Each card not guessed or passed = 1 point for the opposing team

After all players have been the Guesser once, the team with the most points wins.

Conclusion

Hedbanz Lightspeed takes the classic guessing format and adds fast reactions, changing clue styles, and unpredictable rounds. With three clue modes and both solo and team options, the game works for family nights, parties, and mixed-age groups. Once you know the core mechanics, every round becomes a lively race to think, act, and guess as quickly as possible.
