Overview of Rage Cage
If you’re a fan of fast-paced drinking games, Rage Cage is a must-try. It’s an exciting, competitive game that combines drinking and skill with a lot of chances to drink! Let’s break down the rules.
Setup for Rage Cage
Rage Cage is easy to set up and uses the same materials as beer pong. Gather your friends around a flat surface and pick your drink of choice.
Set the Table
Start by setting up at least 10 cups on the table—add 10 more cups for each additional five players. Place the cups in a tight circle at the center of the table and fill them about ⅓ full with your chosen drink (beer is a good option). Select one cup to be the center cup and fill it completely.
Players
Have players stand around the table in a circle. Choose the first player (perhaps the youngest) to start, and the player directly opposite them will also begin. Give each of the two starting players a ping pong ball. For scoring, you can designate someone to track the number of stacks each player gets.
Gameplay
Once everyone is ready, countdown from 3 to begin. The first two players grab the nearest cup and drink it. Afterward, they’ll try to bounce their ping pong ball into their empty cup.
Once a player lands the ball in their cup, they pass both the cup and ball clockwise to the next player.
Stacking
If a player successfully bounces the ball into their cup, they stack their cup on top of the next player’s cup. This is the goal of the game—stacking cups to make others drink.
The player now takes the stacked cups and ball, passes the stack to the left, and grabs a new cup from the center to drink.
As the game progresses, the stack of cups grows, making it harder to land the ball in them.
First Bounce
If a player gets the ball in their cup on the first bounce, they can pass their cup to any player, not just the person to their left.
Making a Middle Cup
If a player accidentally lands the ball in one of the center cups, they must drink from it, stack it on top of their own cup, and continue trying to bounce the ball into the stack. This is similar to the Chandelier game.
End of Game
The game ends when all cups are taken from the center. If you’re keeping score, the player with the most stacks wins!
Rage Cage vs Slap Cup
Rage Cage is often confused with Slap Cup, but the two games are different. In Rage Cage, the goal is to stack your cup onto your opponent’s, forcing them to drink. In Slap Cup, players slap their opponent’s cup off the table to prevent them from bouncing the ball, which also forces them to drink.
FAQ
Are Slap Cup and Rage Cage the Same Thing? No, while both games share similarities, in Rage Cage the objective is to stack your cup on top of your opponent’s, while in Slap Cup, you slap the opponent’s cup away to prevent them from bouncing the ball.
Is There a Strategy to Rage Cage? One effective strategy is to try to pass the ball to the player next to the one who is bouncing. If you land the ball on your first try, you can pass the cup to the left of the current bouncer, speeding up their stack.
Can You Play Rage Cage with Two People? No, Rage Cage requires at least three players to work. With fewer than three, the game will not function as intended.
