How to Play Say Anything
Setup
Say Anything is all about sharing your thoughts—and maybe a few laughs. It’s your chance to answer big questions like “What would be the coolest magical power?” or “What’s the most fun thing to throw off a tall building?” You can be heartfelt, silly, or just plain weird—anything goes!
To set up:
- Give each player an Answer Board, a dry-erase marker, and 2 Player Tokens that match their board’s color.
- Have some napkins or tissues nearby for wiping boards between rounds.
- Choose one player to be the Scorekeeper—they’ll track everyone’s points and hold onto the Scoreboard.
- The youngest player goes first and takes control of the legendary Select-o-Matic 6000.
Asking Questions & Writing Answers
The player with the Select-o-Matic 6000 is the Judge for the round.
- The Judge draws a Question Card, picks any question, and reads it out loud.
- All other players write their answer on their Answer Board and place it face-up on the table as quickly as they can.
Selecting a Favorite Answer
Once all the answers are out, the Judge uses the Select-o-Matic 6000 to secretly pick their favorite. Then, they place it face-down on the table.
Guessing the Judge’s Pick
Everyone except the Judge now uses their 2 Player Tokens to guess which answer was chosen.
- You can place both tokens on one answer,
- Or split them between two different answers.
You don’t have to vote for your own!
Scoring
When guesses are locked in, the Judge flips the Select-o-Matic 6000 to reveal their pick. The Scorekeeper then awards points:
- 1 point to the player who wrote the chosen answer.
- 1 point to each player who correctly guessed the Judge’s favorite.
- 1 point per correct guess (up to 3) to the Judge.
👉 Reminder: No one can score more than 3 points in a round.
Getting Ready for the Next Round
- Everyone takes back their Answer Boards and Tokens.
- Erase your answers using a napkin or cloth.
- Pass the Question Cards and the Select-o-Matic 6000 to the left.
End of the Game
The game ends once everyone has been the Judge twice.
The player with the most points wins!
If there’s a tie, all tied players share the win—and the bragging rights.
