How to Play Yeti Slap

Objective

The goal of Yeti Slap is to be the first player to collect all the cards in the game by correctly identifying and slapping the correct Yeti cards.

Setup

• Shuffle the Deck: Thoroughly shuffle the deck of cards.
• Deal the Cards: Deal an equal number of cards face down to each player. The remaining deck is placed face down in the center of the playing area as the draw pile.

Gameplay

The game is played in rounds, with players taking turns in clockwise order. Here’s what happens on your turn:

1. Play a Card: Reveal the top card from your hand and place it face up in the center of the table. This is the starting card for the current round.
2. Spot a Match? Slap! All players watch the center pile for matching cards. If you see a card in the center pile that matches the image on your top card (same picture), be the first player to slap the matching card in the center pile.

Matching Rules:

• A match can be made by matching the exact same image on any card in the center pile with the image on your top card.

What Happens After a Slap?

There are two scenarios depending on who slapped first:

• Successful Slap: If you slapped the matching card first, congratulations! You get to discard your top card (the one you played to start the match) to your personal discard pile.
• Mistaken Slap: If you slapped a card that doesn’t actually match, you take a penalty! You must draw two cards from the draw pile and add them to your hand.

Continue the Round:

After resolving the slap (successful or mistaken), the player who successfully slapped (or the player next in turn if there was a mistaken slap) takes the following action:

• Draw a Card:  Draw one card from the draw pile and add it to your hand.

The round continues with players taking turns playing a card from their hand, looking for matches, and slapping when they see one. The goal is to get rid of all your cards in your hand as quickly as possible.

Winning the Game

• The first player to get rid of all their cards in their hand wins the game and is crowned the Yeti Slapping Champion!

Notes/Variations

• Fast and Furious:  Yeti Slap is a fast-paced game, so be alert and ready to slap when you see a match!
• Simple Rules, Deep Slapping: The rules are easy to learn, but the game can get intense as players race to spot matches and slap first.
• Variations: Some variations of the game might introduce additional rules, like special cards with unique effects or a limited number of slaps allowed per player before a penalty.
