How to Play CDSK

Objective

The goal of CDSK is simple: move your team’s Player Piece across the board and be the first to correctly answer the final “Hurry Up & Win” question to claim victory. Teams advance by answering questions correctly, completing challenges, and strategically navigating the board spaces.

Setup

  1. Divide players into 2–4 teams, with 1–4 players per team.
  2. Each team chooses a Player Piece. If none are included, find an object that represents your team.
  3. Place your Player Piece on:
    • Classic Start for a longer 47-minute game.
    • Express Start for a shorter 21-minute game.
  4. Shuffle the decks: Basic Cards, Challenge Cards, and Hurry Up & Win Cards.
  5. Decide which team goes first—the most ambitious team begins.

Card Categories

CDSK cards are split into four categories, each covering a different subject area. When landing on a category space:

  1. The player to your left draws a card and reads the Subject aloud.
  2. The team quickly decides how well they know the topic on a scale of 1–10.
  3. The cardholder reads the question associated with that number.
  4. Your team has ~31 seconds to answer.
    • Correct answer: advance your Player Piece the same number of spaces as the question number.
    • Incorrect answer: your piece stays in place.

Challenge Cards

If your team lands on a Challenge space:

  1. The next team draws a Challenge Card and reads the title, instructions, and questions aloud.
  2. Teams may discuss, but phones, Morse code, and other “cheats” are not allowed. Only team spirit counts.
  3. Success moves your piece according to the card’s instructions; failure has no penalty besides losing the chance to advance.

Hurry Up & Win Cards

When a team reaches the final space:

  • They must answer a “Hurry Up & Win” question to win.
  • Correct: your team wins the game.
  • Incorrect: stay on the space and try a new card on your next turn.

Gameplay Flow

  1. Teams take turns in clockwise order.
  2. Each turn consists of answering one question, even if you answer correctly.
  3. After a question, move your Player Piece as indicated.
  4. Continue taking turns until one team wins.

Winning the Game

The first team to answer the final “Hurry Up & Win” question correctly is declared the Champions of CDSK. They may give a victory speech, celebrate, or simply enjoy their triumph in peace.

Strategy Tips

  • Be honest about your team’s confidence level when rating topics 1–10. Overestimating can slow you down.
  • Collaborate efficiently—discussion time is limited.
  • Prioritize learning categories where your team is strong to maximize space movement.
  • Save energy for Challenge spaces, as success here can shift momentum.
